Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0444hrs Saber 45 has broken station and had negative findings in Box 60. At 0750hrs Minuteman 69 is on station for AMC ship. At 0815hrs Primo 4 is on station for Command and Control Helicopter and breaking station at 0850hrs. At 0825hrs 1-20 Infantry Combat Assault, 1. X Ray 92 LZ 0825hrs BS672490, 2. X Ray 42 LZ 0845hrs BS692481, 3. X Ray November 52 LZ 0900hrs BS682483, 4. X Ray 02 LZ 0913hrs LZ BS686496. At 1342hrs S-5 Med Cap is started. At 0625hrs Primo 4 is breaking station 1 hour 20 minutes. Legend: 1st Platoon 02-07, 2nd Platoon 42-47, 3rd Platoon 92-97, 4th Platoon 52-57, CO-01.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. SP4 Steven Utterback (36K20) was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company conducts a Combat Assault beginning first PZ at 0825hrs completed last LZ at 0920hrs LZ BS740410, BS692481, BS672490, and BS686496. At 1030hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS683477 while moving to Patrol Base and found 5 destroyed thatched hoochs, last used approximately 5 months ago. Then 2nd Platoon found 1000 rounds of 30 cal ammo, it was linked and in a metal gas can. The ammo seemed to be pretty old it was rusty and will be destroyed. At 1140hrs Alpha Company called for Routine Dust Off for 1 US with puncture wound in left heel, Terry H. Sears, Dust Off completed at 1220hrs. At 1345hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon at BS683488 found 2 hootches approximately 8 by 8, in one of these they found a fire (still warm) medical supplies, 1 rucksack, AK 47 rounds, 1 magazine of 9mm, 1 small printing press and papers. Also a tunnel 4 by 4 and it was destroyed. Everything will be back hauled to LZ Liz and then to Bronco. At 1530hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS680501 while checking out ridges found 5 sleeping position which consisted of matted down grass. Also some campfires area looked like it had been used recently, continued to check out the area with negative finding. At 1750hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS683494 reacting to previous intelligence given by a Chieu Hoi, the 1st Platoon found a large bunker and a tunnel complex at the above grid. In addition a large house with a black vinyl roof and rock walls was found, this is an initial spot more will follow. At 1830hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon at BS687502, 2nd Platoon Command Post and 4th Platoon is at BS690479, 2nd Platoon snake moving to BS690475 and 3rd Platoon is at BS672490. Alpha Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS684496, continuation of Report while on patrol they found a camouflaged hooch covert with black vinyl ponchos, dimensions 10 X 14. It appeared to have been abandoned for several months, there was a fighting position in front of the hootch and 100 meters to the west they found 25 recently used campfires and 30 recently used sleeping position. Will continue to search area in morning and at 2030hrs 2nd Platoon in location at BS690475.
Bravo Company
At 0945hrs Bravo Company Command Post 1st and 4th Platoon ambush BS626555, 2nd Platoon BS640571 and 3rd Platoon BS630564. At 1045hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS637571 while moving to Patrol Base encountered 1 booby trap, it was a can of Petna with trip wire and smoke grenade firing device. It was located on a trail blown in place. At 2000hrs Bravo Company Command Post 1st and 4th Platoon at BS641572, 3rd Platoon BS634569 and 2nd Platoon BS648574. At 2043hrs Bravo Company ambush location 1st Platoon BS639572, 2nd Platoon BS649574 and 3rd Platoon BS635568.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company will be using Multiple Day and Night Ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1720hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS662559, 2nd Platoon found a fresh grave in the open, next to a trail 2" deep, body is 7 days old, dressed in black, male 25-27, multiple frag wounds. Probably 81mm mortar H & I fire from OP Wood stock, no contact in the area. At 1855hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving to BS694534. At 2010hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon ambushes at BS705550, BS702553 and 1st Platoon ambush at BS691534.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz along with road security.
Echo Company
February 19, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0702hrs Recon 1st squad has closed on Night Logger at BS717435. At 0900hrs Recon Patrol Base is at BS725435. At 1800hrs Recon Patrol is moving to BS722433. At 2025hrs Recon Platoon 1st squad patrol closed on BS729428.
