Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0405hrs 1-20 Infantry Radar at 1956hrs sighted 4 to 7 stationary personnel at BS741440 and engaged with 9 HE of 4.2 Mortar rounds and at 2115hrs 8 to 10 stationary personnel were sighted at grid BS807450 with negative clearance and Recon Infantry at 2125hrs. At 2150hrs 8-10 were spotted moving northwest at grid BS729455 and were engaged with 2 HE of Artillery 155,, and at 0345hrs 3 to 4 stationary personnel were sight at grid BS741419 and engaged with 15 HE of 4.2 Mortar rounds. At 1310hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC all bunkers are in satisfactory condition and all have plumb bobs, same personnel did the inspections. At 1330hrs Battalion Commander left LZ Liz en route to Delta Company. At 1815hrs Primo 2 is on station and is checking out BS790445, he reports numerous fresh digging and bunkers in the area. At 1830hrs 1-20 Infantry Recon will be alert to the southwest of 42 grid line and north of the 44 grid line. Special intelligence reveals that people should be evading to the east of the 42 line. At 2007hrs Recon Platoon reports their locations 44 at BS791470, 42 at BS794456 and the Command Post is at BS801470.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued to have their Security Mission for LZ Liz and all snakes are in location by 2005hrs.
Bravo Company
February 19, 1970
Bravo Company continued their work with the PF and Pacification Program conducting multiple patrolling, day ambushes, Day OP positions in their Area of Operation. At 0828hrs Bravo Company 37 element is receiving sniper fire, approximately 1 magazine, at grid BS786372. We have negative casualties and are calling in Artillery. At 1110hrs Bravo Company all elements have closed on their semi-permanent positions. At 1512hrs Bravo Company found a 8" Artillery round in a culvert under highway 1 at grid BS781437 which may be booby trapped and called for EOD Team which will be there at about 1530hrs. The EOD team said it was a pressure release type booby trap.

Delta Company

At 0723hrs Delta Company we are moving out of our Night Defense Position to our various day locations. At 0840hrs Delta Company the 42 element found a bunker, tunnel type position on the side of a bank with a 3 fort opening with a depth of 6’. The bunker was blown in place at grid BS772358. At 0920hrs Delta Company we found a hootch with various medical supplies, new type of NVA uniforms, documents, and PA system, possibly for propaganda use. There was hot food in the hooch and there are NVA/VC till believed to be in the area, we also found a small tunnel complex will be checked thoroughly on a sweep of the whole area. The Command Post will hold in this location and make a major sweep of the entire area. At 1035hrs Delta Company we request a tracker dog for Delta Company to check blood trails and bandages found by the Company at BS767358. At 1245hrs Delta Company 72 found hooch that is in the process of being built with some fresh trails at grid BS763344. At 1605hrs Delta Company our Night Defense Position will be at BS765344 and we are at BS765344 and we are moving at this time, the 32 element is moving out to the Night Defense Position at BS760342 and the 42 element is moving to BS770341. At 1715hrs Delta Company 42 spotted a possible OP position and a flashing mirror at grid BS791340, we are calling in artillery. At 1715hrs Delta Company has one US was Dust Off by Dolphin 20 with possible heat exhaustion. Name Campbell Grid BS760342. At 1720hrs Delta Company the 42 element spotted a possible OP position and a flashing mirror at grid.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0640hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Fires 5, observed Missions 6 and unobserved Missions 1 for a total expended of 56 HE, 3 WP and 101 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0725hrs Recon the 42 element is moving to their Day Logger at BS803456, the 44 element is moving to BS790479 and the 28 element to BS796464. At 0822hrs Recon Platoon the 42 element at 1300hrs will move out to BS803462, the 44 at 1300hrs to BS799474 and the 28 at 1300hrs to BS793467. At 1630hrs all elements will move to grid BS802468 where we will set up our Night Defense Position and the 42 element will have a snake at BS794456 and the 44 element will have a snake at BS791470. At 1015hrs Recon Platoon we found 6 females VC with no ID and pack strap marks on their backs. We will send them to Military Intelligence as soon as the aircraft is available, we also found 1 female age 60 hiding in a hedgerow at grid BS797752. At 1310hrs Recon the 42 element is in its 2nd location at BS803462 and the 44 element is in the 2nd position at BS799474. At 1345hrs Recon Platoon the 44 element found a freshly dug Punji pit approximately a week old at grid BS7994743. At 1450hrs Recon we found some documents, some of which are in sealed envelopes, at grid BS794452. At 0602hrs we are now in our Day Logger at BS793467. At 1700hrs Recon Platoon our present location is at BS801474. At 1830hrs 1-20 Infantry Recon will be alert to the southwest of 42 grid line and north of the 44 grid line. Special intelligence reveals that people should start evading to the east of the 42 line.
