Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0100hrs 1-20 Infantry Liz Bunker #7 northwest of LZ Liz received 2 rounds sniper fire, negative casualties, return fire with small arms fire, negative assessment. At 1410hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry reports their locations with 81 at BS779392 and 61 at BS801356 along with SRRP Jennifer at BS859285. At 1450hrs 1-20 Infantry Doratee inserted at BS642535 and Dragnet extracted. At 1830hrs SRRP Cougar at BS778393 observed 23 VC moving northeast had 18 weapons, point man dressed in khaki and 6 foot tall with AK47, rest in black PJ, 3 had M-16, all weapons were at sling arms. People were very lax, called in Gun Ships, put fire right on area. Also received heavy automatic fire from BS782397 and SRRP was extracted at 1956hrs, Artillery fired on area. At 1925hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz at BS762429 bunker observed 1 VC near perimeter, fired small arms with negative results. At 2135hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz a gas lantern in one of the bunkers exploded, bunker had M-72 Law, claymores, hand grenades, etc. inside, results 1 US WIA evac suffered from burns. The 1-20 Infantry request EOD team to check bunker on the 20th, team will call TOC at 0800hrs to make arrangements.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. Alpha Company 19th Engineer at BS805423, 1VCS Mine Sweep team found 1ea M-79 round on west side of road and blew it in pace and continued sweep.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for Charlie Brown and by 1015hrs Alpha Company 23 at BS941229, 63 at BS934230 also Dust Off completed at LZ Liz of Vietnamese civilian with broken hip. Alpha Company has the 81 element on Brigades on 94 and 95 and at 1410hrs 28 is at BS941229, 63 at BS903204 and 61 at BS934230. At 1820hrs SRRP Cougar at BS778393 observed 23 VC moving northeast, had 18 weapons, point man dress in khaki and 6’ tall with AK 47, rest in black PJ’s 3 had M-16’s, all weapons sling arms, people were very lax. Called in gun ships put Artillery fire right on area also received heavy automatic weapons fire from BS782397 and SRRP extracted at 1956hrs. Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0800hrs Bravo Company from LZ Liz conduct Combat Assault to LZ BS802423 and BS806424, completed at 0804hrs. At 0830hrs Bravo Company 66 at BS807425 detained 2 VC suspects for questions and then at 1030hrs Bravo at BS738482 engaged 1 VC suspect evading, results 1 VC suspect WIA, CIA and Dust Off completed to 11th Brigade clearing. At 1820hrs SRRP Cougar at BS778393 observed 23 VC moving northeast, had 18 weapons, point man dress in khaki and 6’ tall with AK 47, rest in black PJ’s 3 had M-16’s, all weapons sling arms, people were very lax. Called in gun ships put Artillery fire right on area also received heavy automatic weapons fire from BS782397 and SRRP extracted at 1956hrs. At 1450hrs SRRP Doratee inserted at BS642535 with Dragnet extracted. Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1015hrs Charlie Company 81 is located at BS874424. At 1130hrs Charlie Company at BS863330 detained 1 VC suspect evac for questioning and found a booby trap 105mm round blew in place and at 1230hrs Charlie at BS864376 engaged 2 VC evading and the results was 2 VC KIA. At 1820hrs SRRP Cougar at BS778393 observed 23 VC moving northeast, had 18 weapons, point man dress in khaki and 6’ tall with AK 47, rest in black PJ 3 had M-16’s, all weapons sling arms, people were very lax. Called in gun ships put Artillery fire right on area also received heavy automatic weapons fire from BS782397 and SRRP extracted at 1956hrs. At 1450hrs SRRP Doratee inserted at BS642535 with Dragnet extracted.

Delta Company OPCON to 4-21 Infantry continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 1820hrs SRRP Cougar at BS778393 observed 23 VC moving northeast, had 18 weapons, point man dress in khaki and 6’ tall with AK 47, rest in black PJ 3 had M-16’s, all weapons sling arms, people were very lax. Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
