Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0105hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road, at 762433 reports enemy location at BS774436, reports receiving small arms fire form highway 1 to their southeast and northeast, 4.2 Illumination fired at 0107hrs. Saber 44 requested is on station at 0115hrs to check out the area, 44 took small arms fire at 0130hrs at grid BS765448 and engaged area, broke station at 0145hrs. At 0415hrs Saber 44 is on station for NH Box 62. At 0816hrs Helix 26 is on station for Visual Recon. At 0835hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road is open. At 0836hrs 1-20 Infantry Dolphin Re supply Bird is on station. At 1145hrs 1-20 Infantry sweep to Nui Vong progressing very slowly due to many readings and each one has to be checked. Have already blown 1 suspected mine. TMF have been moved from OP Wink to LZ Dragon and Recon Platoon has returned to LZ Liz, ETA of Dossier and security force 1300hrs. At 2100hrs Saber Black is on station for Box 63, broke station at 2140hrs with negative findings. At 1302hrs MACV at Mo Duc at BS763472 requests Urgent Dust Off for 1 RF with gunshot wound to leg and thigh caused by enemy fire, completed at 2310hrs Bird #54. Final Spot RF 103 blew an ambush on unknown enemy size unit resulting in 1 RF WIA, 8 VC/NVA WIA and 1 AK 47 CIA, not US confirmed. Legend: 1st Platoon 39, 2nd Platoon 74, 3rd Platoon 31, 4th Platoon 57, CO-52.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0105hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road, at BS774436 and BS779449, reports receiving small arms fire form highway 1 to their southeast and northeast, 4.2 Illumination fired at 0107hrs. Alpha Company has moved to LZ Bronco for Rest and retraining (STAND DOWN).
Bravo Company

At 1150hrs Bravo Company has all elements moving at this time and by 1440hrs Bravo Company location are as follows 3rd Platoon at BS725426. At 1515hrs Command Post and 1st Platoon at BS728452, 2nd Platoon at BS718436. At 1934hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon while setting up a Mechanical Ambush vicinity BS729428, engaged 3 VC wearing black with weapons VC were engaged approximate 200 meters and evaded to the east. The Bravo Company 3rd Platoon sweeping area at this time with negative results. PFC Danny L. Sparks was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Charlie Company

At 0700hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon, Command Post and 4th Platoon is moving to LZ Liz. At 0720hrs Charlie Company Command Post while moving on trail at grid BS735418 found 30 pounds rice spread all over the ground, remains of Vietnamese wallet, an old carrying basket, looks like artillery fired someone up, no older than 48 hours. At 0915hrs Charlie Company is moving out for LZ Liz. Charlie Company has taken over the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0430hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon Rat Patrol is moving out to vicinity BS655558. At 0600hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon Rat patrol closed on BS655558. At 0745hrs Delta Company Command Post, 4th, 2nd Platoon in Patrol Base will send the grid. At 0750hrs Charlie Company Command Post element while moving found 1 enemy bunker at grid BS735419, recently used destroyed bunker. At 0825hrs Delta Company 1st and 3rd Platoon is moving out to BS 670535. At 0945hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving out to BS654565. At 1100hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon at BS653567 while on patrol found 1 .51caliber position, camouflaged, was approximately 4 to 5 days old, running north to south along side of position was a trail leading to a Ville, trail had not been used recently. At 1200hrs Delta Company changes 1st and 3rd Platoons Patrol Base to BS667535. At 1825hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out to BS678533. At 1835hrs Delta Company Command Post and 1st Platoon is moving to vicinity BS651569. At 2000hrs Delta Company Command Post 4th, 2nd platoon while moving to their Night Defense Position received approximately 15 rounds small arms fire and 3 rounds M-79 from about 250 meters from the North by Northeast direction. They swept the area with negative results. Delta Company Command Post 2nd and 4th platoon at BS651569, with the 1st Platoon at BS663536, and 3rd Platoon is at BS665535.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. Recon Platoon continued to remain on OP Wink to provide security for the TMF location. At 1145hrs TMF is moved from OP Wink to LZ Dragon and Recon returns to LZ Liz.
