At 0920hrs 1-20 infantry to E Troop effective now the following area is additional to Area of Operation, BS700500 to BS700530 to BS715530 to BS715500. At 0930hrs Primo 3 spotted 2 personnel at BS738678, picked them up, 1 Male 45, 1 female 22, unknown woman was found to be on the black list, they were turned over to Bravo Company will be sent to LZ Bronco. At 1045hrs S-3 1-20 Infantry Area of Operation extension B 106 to be extended Date/Time/Grid ASAP to 222400hrs September 1970, BS670506 to BS640540 t o BS640572 to BS670582 the purpose of Alpha Company Combat Operations, approved by Brigade CPT Mullen. At 1120hrs 1-20 Infantry requests Area of Operation extension to B-30 Date/Time/Grid ASAP to 302400hrs September 1970 BS7048 to 6948 to BS690535 to BS7053 for Purpose of Alpha Company Combat Operations approved by Brigade. At 1620hrs 1-20 Infantry notified E Troop 1-1 Calvary that his Area of Operation now extends to BS6948 to BS6953. At 1835hrs E Troop 1-1 Calvary the 12 element is location at BS728483, 84 is at BS729489 and the 34 element is at BS724491. At 1850hrs 1-20 Infantry to E Troop, move 34 and 34a to BS699525 and BS716511 for tonight effective 0900hrs tomorrow released OPCON, will not depart present Area of Operation until then. The 2 FO should be dropped at this location. At 1855hrs T-3 Fire Mission S-73B sighted 5 personnel that where moving northeast to southwest at 3 miles per hour, metal confirmation, negative clearance. At 2010hrs At MACV L-18 advises us that Nghia-Hanh has sufficient facilities to take care of 9 people from Alpha Company. At 2055hrs 1-20 Infantry in Reference to message from Brigade of utilization of air craft for the, next 10 days. 1-20 Infantry requested Eagle Flights of 2 Company 26 September 1970 at 1400hrs requests 4 slicks, Pink Team and 1 AMC. The Eagle Flight of 2 Company 27 September 1970 1030hrs requests 4 ships, Pink Team, 1 AMC, in the event that 1 day can not go, priority of Eagle Flights request for the following days. On the 26 and 27 September request Regular normal re supply daily and LOH daily. At 2040hrs TMF S-61C spotted 6 personnel moving east to west at 2 miles per hour negative clearance. At 2125hrs E Troop is moving out to BS699525 and at 2000hrs the 34 element E Troop 1-1 Calvary reports location BS718511, the 12 element Mechanical Ambushes at BS731486 and BS731482 with the 34 Mechanical Ambush at BS725489. At 2300hrs TMF S-68C at BS716610 sighted 5 to 6 personnel moving south with negative clearance due to friendly. Legend: 1st Platoon 54-59, 2nd Platoon 84-89, 3rd Platoon 34-39, 4th Platoon 04-09 and CO 12.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. SP4 Roland Bedoux was evac to 91st Evac Hospital.
Alpha Company

At 1025hrs Alpha Company 37 element found a Raft at BS679584, 4 ½ feet by 3 feet covered by grass, there was a trial leading up to the raft, raft was destroyed. At 1700hrs Alpha Company 34 has 3 males, 8 females and 12 children requesting to be extracted from BS672570, reason afraid of US Redlegs. They are afraid that the VC will kill them, packed and ready to move out but are afraid to move because VC, ages 50 to 80. At 1810hrs Alpha Company picked up 2 male detainees both will be back hauled on resupply bird. At 1950hrs Alpha Company 12 element moved into Night Defense Position at BS669579, 54 in Night Defense Position at BS665573 and the 34 element in Night Defense Position at BS675574.
Bravo Company

At 0925hrs Bravo Company 56 element found a bunker inside a hootch at BS728628, well build 3’ high, 12’ wide. Looked to be a meeting place for VC villagers on the wall it had a pointing of AK 47 and a map of booby traps in the area, bunker had a brick floor was not destroyed. At 1125hrs Bravo Company RF 937 working with Bravo Company Area of Operation at 1100hrs reported 2 VC KIA, 1 M-16 CIA, 1 US hand frag, 2 Chi Com at BS738644 and BS740647. At 1710hrs Bravo Company 54 element taking sniper rounds from BS726626, 70 rounds semi-automatic fire from 2 snipers, called in 81mm and shot up area unknown results.
Charlie Company

At 0720hrs Charlie Company 26 element is moving out for BS727435, the 54 element in Day Logger at BS724417, 84 in Day Logger at BS730433 and 12, 04, and 34 in Day Logger at BS716436. At 1026hrs Charlie Company 36 element found 25 pounds of rice 2.5 gal of sauce at BS719419, brought back to command Post. At 1333hrs Charlie Company Reporters extracted from Charlie Company, at 1500hrs Charlie Company requests Urgent Dust Off for Vietnamese child gun shot wound in chest, Dust Off completed at 1515hrs. The child was wounded with a .45 caliber pistol accidentally by US personnel a member of the 81 element was speaking with a child 12, the US in a squatting position with a 45 pistol clip removed. He stood up grasped the 45 and it discharged statement is being prepared will be in rear, on the 19 Sept 70. At 1726hrs Charlie Company the 36 element at BS720426, found a tunnel 4’ deep, blew with C/S tunnel had been used recently. At 1855hrs Charlie Company at BS722425 requests a Priority Dust Off for #152 shot himself in the foot when his rifle discharged by accident, personnel had weapon in his lap in a sitting position, he made some sort of movement and as he did hit the trigger rifle went off. At 1930hrs Charlie Company reports 84 element is moving out to BS726440 and the 84 element is in location at BS729414 with multiply ambushes moving out or in their locations. At 2115hrs Charlie Company 86 element in location at BS733441. Charlie Company reports Rodney M. Baker at 1900hrs was evac to 91 Evac Hospital with gunshot left foot was a non Battle incident.
Delta Company

At 0635hrs Delta Company 55 in their Day Ambush at BS745581, the 58 Day Ambush at BS768584, 57 Day Ambush at BS743584, 84 Day Ambush at BS740567, 85 Day Ambush at BS740567, 85 at BS745565 and 86 Day Ambush at BS744559. Also Delta Company has Day Ambushes at 12 and 14 at BS754574, 34 at BS763554 and 35 at BS765549 and 36 at BS764559. Delta Company used multiple-day ambushes and some day patrols in their Area of Operations. At 0932hrs Delta Company 84 requested Routine Dust Off, 1 US with possible broken collar. At 1307hrs Delta Company 84 engaged 1 pack at BS738563 then they received 30 rounds, small arms fire from wood line. They returned fire, on pack checking area now. At 1450hrs Delta Company 84 PF spotted 7-8 VC dressed in Black and 1 NVA dressed in green engaged them at 150 meters results 1 Vietnamese female WIA, 40-50 years of age, dressed in black. At 1500hrs Delta Company 84 requests Urgent Dust Off for Vietnamese female shot in abdomen, happened when PF/Kit Carson Scout engaged 6 packs, Dust Off completed at 1530hrs
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2030hrs Recon Platoon is moving out to BS768417. At 2130hrs Recon in location at BS768427, while on the way to location spotted 6 personnel at BS773427 moved into a wood line to the north, negative clearance due to proximity of friendly.
