Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0315hrs Saber 40 is on station to work NH Box 63, broke station at 0337hrs with negative findings, will refuel and work Box 61 at 0520hrs broke station at 0542hrs with negative findings. At 0515hrs LZ Liz Bunker Line Inspection #6, 8, 9 were satisfactory, # 7 KCS pulling guard, negative knowledge of password. At 0755hrs MACV Mo Duc OP Wink vicinity BS698563 request Urgent Dust Off for 4 PF, have gunshot wounds to head, face, and groin, receive in contact at 0700hrs 1 click south of PZ. Refused by Vietnamese Air Force Thanh, Dust Off completed at 0830hrs READBACK PF 162 had a patrol leave Wink and were ambushed by unknown size enemy force at BS699553. Results were 4 PF WIA, negative enemy casualties, total Dusted Off 4, estimated enemy were 75 to 100 meters to their south. At 0805hrs LZ Liz Access Road is now clear. At 0900hrs LATE SPOT E Troop 1-1 Calvary on 171600 found 27 rice caches between grids BS750562 and BS753563, and 5 ½ tons where evac to Mo Duc District Headquarters. At 1136hrs MACV Mo Duc Officers from 11 Brigade were attending graduation ceremonies. A Vietnamese male placed plastic charge in US Jeep, another Vietnamese male warned the US and driver removed the charge and placed it on the side of the road. A Vietnamese civilian came up and was looking at the charge when it went off, results 1 Vietnamese KIA. At 1111hrs Delta Company, AMC is on station for Combat Assault of Delta Company 1st PZ 1132hrs and last LZ at 1158hrs and AMC broke station at 1205hrs. At 1500hrs Primo 6 is on station at this time. At 1520hrs Dolphin 26 is on station for re supply. At 2025hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes out: Alpha 9, Charlie 4, Delta 4, Recon 1 for a total 18 out. At 2113hrs Saber 48 is on station Box 63, braking station at 2145hrs with negative findings. At 2200hrs LZ Liz Bunker Inspection: Bunkers # 5, 6, 7, and 8 where all satisfactory. At 2230hrs Saber 48 is on station for Box 64, negative findings, broke station at 2257hrs. At 2251hrs LZ Liz Practice Alert, Bravo Company 100%, all Artillery 100%, Reaction force 100% 2254hrs, 2310hrs reaction force in location alternate Command Post, Artillery alert at 2259 had 100%. At 2300hrs North OP received 1 to 2 rounds AK fire from vicinity BS750437, unable to return fire or engaged with mortars due to the fact that it is a Ville. At 2330hrs LZ Liz reports on normal alert status. Defense Targets fired, small arms for PF fired, the Reaction Force of 1-20 Infantry TOC and Reaction Force of Charlie Battery 1-82 Artillery activated all seem satisfactory. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. SGT Benny F. Tucker was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital medic.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0748hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon has linked up with 2nd Platoon at BS738394.At 1025hrs Alpha Company bought 2 M79 HE rounds from 2 Vietnamese children 7-9, paid 3 bars of soap, the rounds were fairly new and were blow in place. At 1945hrs Alpha Company 2nd and 3rd Platoons at BS736402 and Command Post, 1st and 4 Platoon at BS749413, and 3rd Platoon at BS736402 with 9 Mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0515hrs LZ Liz Bunker Line Inspection #6, 8, 9 were satisfactory, # 7 KCS pulling guard, negative knowledge of password. Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2200hrs LZ Bunker line inspection Satisfactory and at 2251hrs Alert Bravo Company 100% at 2310hrs reaction force in alternate Command Post at 2259hrs 100%.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0730hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon is moving to Patrol Base at BS688518. At 1110hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon Patrol is moving to BS668542. At 1649hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon requested 1 Priority Dust Off for 1 US with symptoms of Malaria vicinity BS674527, Bird #85 completed at 1709hrs. At 1800hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon request urgent Dust Off for 2 packs that hit a booby trap with trip wire was located on a trail, 2 packs were the 3rd and 4th from the point man. The packs line # 262 Burch and # 330 Peters Multiple Frag Wounds to body, Bird #85 completed at 1816hrs. At 2007hrs Charlie Company Command Post, 2nd Platoon at BS678452, 1st Platoon at BS670531 with 1st Platoon has ambush at BS662530 and 4 Mechanical Ambush out. SP4 Larry D. Burch was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital (Believe other was SP4 Charles Peters).
Delta Company

At 0325hrs Delta Company had Mechanical Ambush detonated will check at 1st light, south 350 meters BS704474. Command Post, 3rd and 4th Platoons send a patrol out at 0610hrs found 2 blood trails about 25 meters from Mechanical Ambush, looked like they evaded north along lowlands. At 1132hrs Delta Company conducts Combat Assault PZ 1132hrs Last LZ at 1158hrs and AMC broke Station at 1205hrs. At 1233hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon requested Dust Off for 1 Scout Dog with heat exhaustion. Dust Off control reports unable to extract, will Dust Off with resupply bird at 1957hrs. At 1957hrs Delta Company all elements in Night Defense Position, Command Post, 3rd and 4th Platoon at BS706500, 1st Platoon at BS702496, and 2nd Platoon at BS711481 with 4 Mechanical Ambush out.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0725hrs Recon Platoon reports in their Patrol Base vicinity BS688518. At 1137hrs Recon Platoon in Patrol Base at vicinity BS706420, ultimate destination at BS674420. At 1952hrs Recon is moving out to Night Defense Position at BS700425 and closed at 2001hrs.
