Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0020hrs 1-20 Infantry reports there was 1 individual, spotted base of LZ Thunder fired on, with negative results. At 0800hrs 1-20 Infantry reports that 150 meters south of bridge 108 at 0745hrs 2 EM Dust Off injured by mine of HE type explosive- fragments of the explosion went through a star cluster carried by on of the injured, hole in road after the blast, they were cleaning the area. At 0915hrs CPT McDonald reports bridge site 108 received sniper fire from 1000hrs northwest of that location vicinity village at BS833330 in a RD area clear to move, Called CPT Smith MACV Duc Pho, granted clearance to move in to check out sniper fire. At 0930hrs E Troop bridge site 109 the civilians who normally work at the rock quarry didn’t show up for work at the rock quarry this morning, the children who normally play on tracks there told GI they had to be in huts at 1200hrs at BS820347. At 1700hrs to 1-20 Infantry the VIP code name Victor (LT General Palmer) will be in brigade area 19 January 1968 from 1510hrs to 1550hrs. Desire that Commander of each unit be at Unit Command Post during that period.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company again has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder and at 0800hrs 2 WIA Dust Off where removing a dud M-79 round when it detonated. At 0930hrs Alpha Company on a Search and Destroy Operation Center is vicinity of BS854274. Alpha Company at 1000hrs engaged approximately 20 VC unit requested Artillery blocking force is prepared to sweep are after artillery fire mission. At 1150hrs Alpha Company at BS854275 located 4 VC huts under construction each large enough to hold 1 Platoon. At 2045hrs Alpha Company located on bridge 104 and LZ Thunder.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company 1st Platoon is located at BS786367 and at 1055hrs Bravo Company reports 1st Platoon engaged 1 VC sniper as they moved into area found him running from a hut, 1 VC sniper WIA and will be evac to LZ Bronco. The remainder of the Bravo Company is located at LZ OD. At 2045hrs Bravo Company Command Post with 2 Platoons is at LZ OD with the 1st Platoon vicinity BS788395 with allied forces.
Charlie Company

At 0800hrs Charlie Company reports that 150 meters south of bridge 108 at 0745hrs 2 EM Dust Off injured by removing dud M-79 Round when it detonated multiply fragments of the explosion went through a star cluster carried by on of the injured. At 1130hrs Charlie Company center of mass BS790307 as they continued their Search and Destroyed mission. At 2030hrs Charlie Company Command Post and 3rd Platoon is at BS780318 with 1st Platoon at BS783314 with 2nd Platoon at BS786316.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued to their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and continued their Security Mission also on Bridges 107 and 108. At 1541hrs Delta Company vicinity BS775318 observed 6 VC called gun ships and artillery with results 2 VC KIA 1 in Khaki shirt with star on belt buckle.
Echo Company

Echo Company and 4.2 platoon and radar platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission on LZ Thunder. At 1315hrs 1st and 2nd Lift of Recon element is at 1312hrs, the 3rd lift will consist of Military Intelligence and allied forces at BS865462 looking for a small weapons cache reported by PW plan. At 1610hrs 1-20 reports Recon element and Military Intelligence apprehended 1 VC suspect from cave at BS896312 and Military intelligence has custody of suspect. At 2030hrs Recon has 1 element with Alpha Company on bridge 104 and Recon Platoon on LZ Thunder.
