Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0950hrs Alpha Company received automatic fire saddle west of Bridge 97 and the Command and Control helicopter is going to check area with mike forces. At 1035hrs Delta Company 19th Engineers Road is open from Bronco to Bong Song, however there has been enemy action at bridge 95. Advise not to send traffic further then 95 at this time. At 1105hrs a driver went to Duc Pho and received sniper fire going in and coming out of town from BS808373, fire was from west side of road about 100 meters out. Huts in the area, MACV are checking it out. At 1515hrs 1-20 Infantry 2 PF squads operating East of Bridge 105, at BS887306, supposedly VC machine gun is located in that vicinity. At 2200hrs OP on Tripoli reports negative SITREP. At 2230hrs Major Dinkins, S-3 6-11 Artillery, cancelled all H &I fire with 81 because he felt the 81 did not have a sophisticated enough check system to insure accuracy. He said that if there was to be any firing around this area he would provide it with the Artillery.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0015hrs Artillery advised that at 0230hrs they would fire on the following grids BS810411, BS802409, BS815402 and BS835395 notified all sectors.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder with one element running a Search and Destroy operation in their Area of Operation. At 0950hr Alpha Company received automatic fire saddle west of Bridge 97 and Command and Control helicopter is going to check area with mike forces. At 1855hrs Alpha Company Security Mission for LZ Thunder with ambush at BS845304 and BS843307.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Search and Destroy operations in their Area of Operation and at 1130hrs at BS898313 has 1 VC evading, results is 1 VC WIA, CIA and 2 other VCS detained. At 1550hrs Bravo Company at BS898311 detained 3 VCS for evac for further questioning by Military Intelligence. At 1850hrs Bravo Company has there Night Position is at BS890307.
Charlie Company
February 18, 1968
Charlie Company continued their Security for LZ Uptight with one platoon conducting Search and Destroy operation in their Area of Operation with two ambushes that night. At 1245hrs Charlie Company reports location at LZ Uptight.
Delta Company
February 18, 1968
At 1114hrs Delta Company at BS866355 found 1 tunnel with PRC 25, radio was set on 42.00 low band and 65 high band, 8 M-14 magazines loaded and 1345hrs Delta at BS868353 found 85 pounds of DDT was destroyed. At 1458hrs detained 1 VCS claims to be confirmed VC, evac to Military Intelligence. At 1800hrs Delta Company is in their Night Defense Position at BS805457 with ambushes at BS878347, BS871350 and BS864345.
Echo Company

Echo Company and 4.2 platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. At 1235hrs Recon at BS751361 request 2 Primo Gun Ships to halt 7 VC from evading. At 1845hrs Recon reports their location at BS743364.
