Forward Area: (1-20 Infantry Headquarters) is located at LZ Liz and will continue to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0005hrs South OP, Radar spotted 2 personnel vicinity BS748423, both were moving northwest toward BS741426, later spotted 6 additional personnel moving in the same direction. All 8 personnel moved into the Ville vicinity BS741426 with negative clearance for Artillery or M-60 due to the proximity of friendly. At 0040hrs South OP spotted 1 additional VC at BS749423. Blue Ghost Black on station at 0044hrs, had negative sighted 2 personnel at the base of the South OP to the west, engaged with small arms and M-60 with negative results. At 0600hrs Weather: Fair Skies, Wind Northwest 5-12 knots, 76 to 65, Humidity 90 to 70, outlook through Sunday increasing cloudiness. At 0825hrs MACV Mo Duc, relay priority Dust Off for 1 RF with traumatic amputation of feet and multiple frag wounds completed at 0900hrs. At 0950hrs 26 Engineer Access Road is open at this time. At 1038hrs S-4 Dolphin 223 is on station for resupply. At 1235hrs Q Company, took 1 sniper round from BS696604, they sent an element to check out the area with negative findings. At 1404hrs S-4 Dolphin 423 is on station for resupply. At 1755hrs MACV Delta 41 vicinity BS772472 requests a Urgent Dust Off for 1 friendly Vietnamese had frag wounds in his upper and lower body from a booby trap, Dust Off completed at 1802hrs. At 1715hrs (misplace Spot) from Brigade: 181600hrs December 1970 indicate of increase enemy activity. Recent intelligence indicates that the enemy is planning a period of increased activity from 18 to 22 December to coincide with the following holidays: 19 December anniversary of Anti French Resistance of 1946, 20 December 10th Anniversary NLF founding, 22 December celebration of the NVA Army Day. We expect enemy to concentrate or attack by fire, probably at population centers, to focus maximum attention on present activities and capabilities. Ground attack will be characterized by Sapper Attack and increased terrorist incidents. At 0950hrs South OP spotted vicinity BS749424, 5 to 8 VC/NVA personnel moving toward the north. Engaged with Artillery (killer Junior) South OP spotted 3 personnel go down. North OP picked up movement vicinity BS742419, engaging with Artillery at 2034hrs. South OP spotted 9 VC/NVA in vicinity BS743425 headed in North West direction and engaged at 2045hrs with Artillery HE rounds. North OP spotted 3 to 5 personnel at BS730423 that where moving south. At 2050hrs Blue Ghost Black on station, sent to BS743425, spotted 3 VC running through a rice paddy and engaged with mini gun at 2100hrs Ghost Black says he dropped them in water next to dike. He continued to fire into the area after they fell in the water. At 2126hrs Recon Platoon is moving to contact area. At 2130hrs Blue Ghost is breaking for fuel and at 2205hrs Recon reports their in the contact area. At 2237hrs Blue Ghost breaking station and at 2245hrs, 3 killed by Glue Ghost, body not found. At 2315hrs Blue Ghost Black on station requests clearance for Box 68, cleared by LT Lewis and broke station at 2347hrs. Legend: 1st Platoon 83-88, 2nd Platoon 33-38, 3rd Platoon 03-08, 4th Platoon 63-68 and CO 09.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company set up a Day Logger and used heavy patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2015hrs Alpha Company locations with 2nd Platoon ambush with BS670556, BS675554, Command Post, 2nd and 4th Platoon Night Defense Position BS672554, 3rd Platoon with ambushes BS668525 and 67 BS9534 and 1st Platoon with Ambushes BS661554 and BS660566.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Charlie Company

At 0630hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon vicinity BS758403 had a trip flare set off, fired the area up with small arms, claymores and XM-203, and hand frag, check the area out with negative results. The Company continued their VIP program along with patrolling and sweeps in their Area of Operation. At 1950hrs Charlie Company Command Post, 1st, 3rd and 4th Platoons is at BS752388, 3rd Platoon ambushes at BS742391, BS749402, BS748382, 2nd Platoon at BS769369 with ambushes at BS768371, BS777372 with 1st Platoon ambushes at BS728415 and BS722415.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue to use Saturation Patrolling of their Area of Operations. At 0700hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS751578, in there preplanned Patrol Base. At 0810hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon has moved out for BS735433. At 1351hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol moving out for BS741435 and 2nd Platoon patrol is at checkpoint 1 at BS764578. At 1940hrs Delta Company Command Post and 4th Platoon BS725450, 3rd Platoon BS738450 with ambushes BS737456, BS733447, 2nd Platoon BS751571 and 1st Platoon BS725446 with ambush BS720438.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry. North OP spotted 3 to 5 personnel at BS730423 that where moving south. At 2050hrs Blue Ghost Black on station, sent to BS743425, spotted 3 VC running through a rice paddy and engaged with mini gun at 2100hrs Ghost Black says he dropped them in water next to dike. He continued to fire into the area after they fell in the water. At 2126hrs Recon Platoon is moving to contact area.
