Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1840hrs 1-20 Infantry Bunker Status Alpha Company OK, Artillery OK, Headquarters Company OK, and Rear OK and all plumb bob were present.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0910hrs 11 Brigade Convoy 13-1 at BS627708 convoy from Quang Ngai to Nghia Hanh, a 2 ½ Ton truck (HQ 27) truck had a steering mechanism failure while at 20 MPH. Truck ran off the road and hit 3 Vietnam civilians and 2 cycles (Total Loss). The 3 Vietnam civilians were taken to Quang Ngai Hospital (1 male 25 years old, 1 female age 40 and 1 male 10 years with slight damage to truck).
Alpha Company

Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0615hrs Alpha Company 76 element closed LZ Liz and at 0900hrs 36, 14 and 24 closed on LZ Liz. At 1835hrs Alpha Company 75 SRRP is moving to BS763441, and at 2000hrs the 15 element is located at BS777441, 34 at BS768439 and 35 is at BS772440 all in position.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company is using multiple patrolling with the Vietnamese in their Area of Operations. At 0940hrs Bravo Company the 33 element picked up 3 detainees 2 females and one male in the vicinity of BS756445. At 1025hrs 4-21 Infantry reports that there are 5 VC/NVA with weapons at BS774379. Request Bravo Company 73 element to react if possible, 4-21 Infantry located at BS783375 and Bravo Company are moving east by southeast. The 72 element is moving to BS791411 for bamboo cutting mission. Bravo Company element spotted 3 VC with one carrying a weapon, tried to set up ambush, the VC changed direction of movement negative results on ambush unable to call in Artillery because of friendly. At 1205hrs Bravo Company 72 element is to BS791411 for their bamboo cutting mission. The 12 element at 1410hrs will have training on map reading and river crossing tomorrow. At 1400hrs Bravo Company Late Report: in regards to the message (# 24) at 0715hrs on 16 December 1969. Bravo Company Commanding Officer talked to some Vietnamese people in the village. They said the woman KIA was a Pho Hug Ville Women’s Association leader. The 1 that was WIA female they said was a hard core VC and the second WIA was a VC nurse. At 1410hrs Bravo Company Gorilla snakes is at BS778437 with 5 PF, the 76 snake is at BS794409 with 5 PF, the 75 snake is at BS793420 with 5 PF, the 35 snake is at BS787445 with PF. Also Bravo Company report the 34 Patrol is at BS778464 has 10 PF and the 12 element will have training on map reading and river crossing tomorrow. At 1753hrs Bravo Company will have one hook sortie to Chu Lai for Stand Down with PZ at 1717hrs and LZ at 1753hrs. At 2015hrs Bravo Company one urgent Dust Off for one US with Malaria, pick up site Twin Villes (BS776446), Name PFC Ronald J. Hamilton completed at 2025hrs.
Charlie Company

At 1530hrs Charlie Company reports their lasts landing zone time back from their Stand Down and is at LZ Bronco.
Delta Company

Delta Company is located at Chu Lai on Stand Down.
Echo Company
December 18, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0645hrs 4.2 Platoon reports total expend 18 HE, 3 WP and 7 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0646hrs Recon the Will Scarlet snake is closing. At 0800hrs USMC informs us that they will try to pull the M Boat which has a hole in it hull off the beach. We will make the attempt in 2 hours. At 1123hrs Recon Platoon the Little Al patrol is moving to BS808440. At 1400hrs Recon Platoon they found some bunkers at grid BS808440, we blew bunkers with claymores. We also found a 155 round which we are blowing in place. At 1440hrs Recon Platoon plans for tonight Little John snake is at BS825434, with little Al, as a reactionary force. At 1750hrs Recon Platoon we have one M Boat off Shore, but one M Boat is still on the beach.
