Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0412hrs Inferno Blue, Bravo Company 123 Aviation working LZ Snoopy perimeter, 0424hrs working LZ Liz perimeter, at 0440hrs LZ Bronco perimeter and broke station at 0450hrs. At 0450hrs Inferno Blue is on station working Snoopy and at 0501hrs broke to refuel and at 0526hrs in Nighthawk Box 56 and at 0855hrs broke station. At 0705hrs Resupply bird Upright 560 is on station. At 0915hrs Access road is clear and open. At 1040hrs Convoy Arrived at LZ Liz. At 1243hrs there are 30 Packs standing by for Eagle Flight at 1330hrs. At 1040hrs Convoy arrived at LZ Liz. At 1425hrs the Convoy is departing to Chu Lai 12 vehicles and 14 packs. At 1435hrs 1-20 Infantry reports Field Strength Alpha 47, Charlie 46, HHC 7 and Echo 12. At 1816hrs Red leg while on eagle flight was on patrol, slipped and possibly broke his finger. At 1910hrs Permission for H Troop 17 Calvary to Night Defense Position at BS692529, 1-20 Infantry (SMH), Mo Duc (MJS). At 2146hrs MACV Duc Pho No fire box BS813430, south along Tra Cau to 68-grid line east to South China Sea till 191000hrs August 1971. At 2149hrs H Troop 17 Calvary Area of Operation extension Upper Left BS6954 Center Right BS7150 clear Mo Duc (WW). At 2150hrs LRRP Team Tennessee will Combat Assault at 190630 August 1971 into BS648563, relay stations for Dottie and Nui Vong. At 2155hrs Brigade Commander meeting at 19100hrs August 1971at LZ Dottie, will pick up LTC Whitley at 1030hrs and Brigade will provide transportation. Legend: 1st Platoon 59, 2nd Platoon 56, 3rd Platoon 89, 4th Platoon 97 and CO-29.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company is on LZ Liz preparing for Move West and LZ Liz to be turn over to the ARVN. Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1550hrs Alpha Company and Charlie Company 1-20 Infantry conducts Eagle Flight from Lion to BS675323 completed at 1450hrs.

Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1550hrs Alpha Company and Charlie Company 1-20 Infantry conducts Eagle Flight from Lion to BS675323 completed at 1450hrs Charlie Company completed Eagle Flight from Eagle to BS662340 completed at 1508hrs. At 1945hrs Charlie Company while engaging a unknown number enemy force with M-79 fire one round failed to penetrate the vegetation and bounced back and exploded causing minor frag wounds to two individuals. They were treated in the field and will not be back hauled at BS673323.

Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0628hrs Recon is leaving their Night Defense Position at BS735418 and head to LZ Liz and closed at 0700hrs and continue their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry Battalion.
