Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0140hrs LZ Dragon TOC at BS737533 at midnight reports the Bridge was blown and completely destroyed by unknown number of VC with explosives. The PF guarding the Bridge was over run and there is By pass. The VC made contact with PF and they left the area, leaving bridge unguarded. Bridge was destroyed by satchel charges. The PF are now guarding the Bridge, will be closed for 2 to 3 days. At 1855hrs 1-20 Infantry the Hidden Lake Navy at LZ Charlie Brown requested Bust Off for 1 male Vietnamese with leg and skull fractures, Dust Off completed at 1910hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
April 18, 1969
At 0910hr Alpha Company reports their location at BS803504. At 0915hrs Alpha Company at BS773524 VCS who admitted her husband was a VC and took her to Military Intelligence, she was found in a hut. At 1112hrs Alpha Company at BS772510 Agent from Mo Duc says dossiers buried a live 8 VC with weapons and will take agent to location to find tunnel. At 1310hrs Alpha Company at BS776514 found some documents, rice issuing book, money issuing book and training manual at 1610hrs. Alpha Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS772510. At 1948hrs Alpha Company found spider holes, good for ambushes also look for weapons cache which was removed.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder with Bravo 21 still at BS861345. At 1010hrs Bravo at BS864347 found 3 Punji pits one US fell into one of the pits. He was unhurt in process of destroy the pits. At 1830hrs Bravo Company 31 is at BS910288 and 33 is at BS905292 and 35 at BS889298.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. Charlie Company at 1110hrs received sniper fire returned fire. At 1130hrs Charlie Company at BS914263 has had light sniper fire they are returning fire with M-79 rounds negative casualties. At 1515hrs Charlie Company at BS914263 found 2 booby traps and destroyed them. At 2335hrs Charlie Company at BS913213 spotted 2 VCS (M).
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security mission for LZ Liz and at 0201hrs Delta Company at BS761441 captured 1 VCS (Male), 45 years old and evading.
Echo Company
April 18, 1969
Echo Company headquarters is located at LZ Liz. The 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Charlie Brown, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the LZ Charlie Brown. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1925hrs Recon Platoon at BS724444 spotted 14 VC/NVA moving west to east on the 515 Highway respond with Artillery and unknown results.
