Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0315hrs LZ Liz Bravo Company 43 at 0315hrs believe they have 3 dinks in wire on southwest side of north OP, engaged with 81mm mortar at this time with unknown results. At 0550hrs Bravo Company 42 element snake has closed on LZ Liz. At 1200hrs 1-20 Infantry Command and Control Helicopter 430 took one round, set down with negative casualties or damage Late Entry found the mortar site where we received fire from last night. At 1220hrs Command and Control Helicopter took off under our own power, proceeding down 515 then to Highway 1 on the way back to LZ Bronco. At 1804hrs Ajax for the Battalion Alpha Company 98, Bravo 95, Charlie 73 and Delta Company 73, Recon 45 and 4.2 Platoon 20.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 1500hrs LZ Bronco and Duc Pho received 122mm Rocket at BS813378 with result 1 US WIA (M) also 2 other rockets hit outside the perimeter at BS809357 with results 1 US WIA (E). At 1800hrs one EM WIA in right leg during 122mm rocket between the Water Point and Barber Shot attached to 6-11 Artillery. At 1615hrs TF 57-2 at 1600hrs at BS825339 convoy ambushed, receiving small arms fire and hand frag from both sides of the road. Results of the ambush 2 (5,000 gallons) tank trucks destroyed, 4 US WIA and evac to LZ Bronco at 1615hrs, contact broken at 1645hrs. At 2000hrs Target Detection: String D-10 at 1932hrs at BS72654535 reports movement was detected west to east, metal was detected 8-10 persons, shot out at 1942hrs with 4 rounds of 155 HE Artillery.
Alpha Company

At 0700hrs Alpha Company reports the 23 element is moving and at 0725hrs reports their tail end of our element is BS989431. At 0820hrs Alpha Company our lead element has come across spider holes along the ridge. At 1110hrs Alpha Company at BS687436, the Bunker complex is well built 8’ long by 6’ wide and 4’ deep tunnel entrance top made of 2 to 3 layers of 4" logs, plus 8 to 12’ deep with dirt, would hold 5 to 6 men. So far there was 14 bunkers one well used network of trails, Bike Repair shop, Barbershop and a good training area. Also found a message which read "look for the enemy and fight the enemy", also found some fresh bandages with fresh blood. At 1115hrs Alpha Company and Charlie Company reports their first elements have linked together. At 1300hrs Alpha Company 23 element will be moving forward into the area where warlords spotted dinks in a bunker this morning, when they get back we will be ready to accept anything we need on our new LZ. Then we will move out, Request gun ships in area when we do finally all move out. At 1430hrs Alpha Company my 23 element received sniper fire calling in gun ships at this time. We will sweep through the area and at 1600hrs Alpha and Charlie Company working the area around BS687435. At 2000hrs Alpha and Charlie Company move to their Night Defense Position at BS688435.
Bravo Company

At 0315hrs Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Bravo Company at 0317hrs at LZ Liz our 43 element thinks they saw possible movement on the south side of Northern OP, taking under fire at this time. The enemy returned fire (short Burst of 5-10 rounds) from one weapon and engage with 81mm Mortar fire at this time with unknown results. At 1200hrs Command and Control Helicopter took a hit and are landing putting out local security. Gun Ships and an element from Bravo Company will pull security.
Charlie Company

At 0800hrs Charlie Company is located at BS694437 is moving in a west direction through thick brush. At 1115hrs Charlie Company and Alpha Company first element have linked together and by 1400hrs at BS687435. At 1800hrs Alpha and Charlie Companies are together vicinity BS694437 before they move into their Night Defense Position at 2000hrs vicinity BS688435.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Snoopy. At 0810hrs Delta Company the Engineer are here and will work unless rain continues or gets harder. For Delta Company elements 43 and 24 Operations See Echo Company September 1969.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0530hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Observed Mission 4 for a total expended 18 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0723hrs Recon reports location at Southern Bridge site. At 0800hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS789417 and at 1000hrs Recon Platoon is now located at BS771461. At 1400hrs Recon Platoon is now located at BS777444 their Day Logger. At 2000hrs Recon Platoon reports their night locations Recon BS774450, 47 at Bravo Company 47 BS789416, 43 at BS772462, and Delta Company 24 at BS789401.
