Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Dottie and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 2100hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer Bridge 124 will be completed tomorrow for 2 way traffic. Request 11 Light Infantry Brigade to provide security for Bridge 124 beginning night of 18 October 1968. Delta Company is also building a bunker for security element.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie with roving patrolling in their Area of Operation.
Bravo Company
October 17, 1968
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission LZ Buff.
Charlie Company
October 17, 1968
At 0759hrs Charlie and Delta Company is at BS515805. At 1055hrs Charlie Company is located at BS512214. At 1220hrs Charlie Company at BS515213 engaged 1 VC man evading shot him results 1 VCS is CIA requests Dust Off and completed. At 1320hrs Charlie Company reports locations (-) BS515221, with 1 element at BS519296. At 1633hrs Delta and Charlie Companies again join in their Night Defense Position at BS526837 with one roving patrol.
Delta Company
October 17, 1968
At 1109hrs Delta Company detained 1 VCS, will evac to LZ Dottie. The VCS had following equipment, kit Carson Scout said was NVA equipment, Army Cap, 2 Ammo Pouches, 1 Small blanket, 1 Rice pad and clothes in C Ration Box socks and PJ all were destroyed except the socks. At 1633hrs Delta Company is located at BS526837 which became their Night Defense Position with one roving patrol.
Echo Company
October 17, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Dottie where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Dottie. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Dottie where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie.
