Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Cork and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II. At 0900hrs Aerial Scouts at BS346785 received fire and at BS344486, BS35476 and BS352486 with negative hits altitude unknown expended ammo with negative assessment. Late Report an F4 fighter went down, Helix 35 is on station with Air Strike received heavy automatic weapons fire from south of downed F4 and the OH23 spotted 2 chutes, 1 lift raft with green dye in river spotted 1 body appeared to be shot through head. At 1105hrs still receiving ground fire have put in 1 Air Strike can not go in until ground fire is surprised. One ship from Air Strike received hit has small fire on ship heading for Quang Ngai at this time. Brigade has sent 2 gun ships from 174 Aviation to relieve Air Strike on station after 2nd Air Strike the body of 1 man was picked up and evac to Chu Lai, Air Strike still receiving fire from villages where air strike went in also from BS348509.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0244hrs Scrambled Gun Ships and Flare ships Duc Pho receiving automatic weapons fire returned to White at 0620hrs. At 1000hrs At Bridges 98-99 (BS900265) Delta Company 19 Engineer 2 1/2 ton truck hit booby trap 105mm round front of truck damaged, negative casualties. Detain 3 VCS male, 1 M-2 carbine CIA evac to Hard Stand at Charlie Brown, truck belong to Headquarter 4-3 Infantry.
Alpha Company

At 1745hrs Alpha Company is located at BS448572 and will continue their Search and Destroy operation in their Area of Operation.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued to use Combat Sweep operations in their Area of Operation and Bravo Company location at 1750hrs is at BS447571.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Cork.
Delta Company
November 17, 1968
At 1100hrs Delta Company found numerous huts which they destroyed and 3 graves with bodies total for the day 4 NVA KIA. Delta Company Locations at 1210hrs Delta Company Command Post BS408582, 163 BS431579, 173 BS413583 and BS133 BS408571 with their Night Defense Position located at BS425567.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 0930hrs at BS441578 Recon Platoon found 15 new hootches, 1 VC sandals looks like a Night Defense Position for 7 people, 1 Chi Com grenade, destroyed in place, 1 NVA entrenching tool, 1 81mm round, destroyed in place and burned the hootches. At 1048hrs Recon Platoon at BS441578 found a camouflaged grave with 1 male in it was shot in chest. At 1750hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS737582.
