Headquarters and Headquarter Company
March 17, 1971

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0125hrs MACV Mo Duc requests an Urgent Dust Off for 2 Vietnamese with multiple frag wounds to body caused by non-hostile grenade. 2 people were setting up a Mechanical Ambush in vicinity of BS763472 when grenade exploded the Dust Off was completed at 0138hrs by Bird # 83. At 0210hrs N/H MACV Nghia Hanh has RF 118 is moving to Wood stock from N/H and the RF 182 is moving from Wood stock to N/H leaving N/H at 0600hrs to 1800hrs. At 0759hrs Warlord 7 is on station for A Calvary Box 33D and breaking station due to ground fog at 0810hrs. At 1310hrs Minuteman 838 is on station for re supply. At 1433hrs Minuteman 838 is breaking station. At 1740hrs 1-20 Infantry conduct a Combat Assault: 1. PAPA 46 LZ 1752hrs, 2. PAPA 22 LZ 1801hrs, 3. ZULU 46 LZ 1802hrs, 4. ZULU 09 LZ 1802hrs, 5. PAPA 33/42 LZ 1820hrs, 6. PAPA 09 LZ 1822hrs and 7. PZ ZULU 33 LZ 1822hrs and at 1835hrs Minuteman 16 is breaking station. Alpha Company Combat Assault is completed. Legend: 1^st Platoon 33, 2^nd Platoon 46, 3^rd Platoon 22, 4^th Platoon 09, CO-42.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.

Alpha Company
March 17, 1971

Alpha Company conducts a Combat Assault at 1740hrs 1^st pick up to BS649517, with the latest LZ at 1825hrs. At 1932 Alpha Company report their location Command Post, 1^st and 4^th Platoon Night Defense Position at BS643539, with 2^nd and 3^rd Platoon at BS657486.

Bravo Company
March 17, 1971

At 085hrs Bravo Company all ambushes closed, moving to Patrol Base, 3^rd Platoon moving to 2^nd Platoon to pick up batteries. At 1315hrs Bravo Company 3^rd Platoon patrol is moving to BS668487. At 1401hrs Bravo Company 2^nd Platoon patrol has moved to BS674496. At 1429hrs Bravo Company 1^st Platoon has moved to BS707500. At 1523hrs Bravo Company 1^st Platoon has closed on BS702494. At 1630hrs Bravo Company all patrols have closed at this time. At 1830hrs Bravo Company Command Post 1^st and 4^th Platoon Night Defense Position vicinity BS707500, 2^nd Platoon Night Defense Position vicinity BS673496. Bravo Company 3^rd Platoon Night Defense Position is at BS669486, 3^rd Platoon ambush at BS672489.

Charlie Company
March 17, 1971

At 0715hrs Charlie Company has all elements in pre planned locations Command Post and 3^rd Platoon is at BS676550, 1^st Platoon is at BS660530, 2^nd Platoon is at BS655565 and the 4^th Platoon is at BS699562. At 0939hrs Charlie Company Urgent Dust Off for 1 US multiple frag wounds to legs from Booby trap name SP4 Armando Medina Dust Off completed at 0950hrs. Charlie Company at there Mechanical Ambush location BS670555, while moving out to retrieve his Mechanical Ambush tripped his own MA, results 1 WIA US at 1908hrs Charlie Company minus Platoon is now on LZ Liz. SGT Armando Medina was evac to the 91^st evac Hospital.

Delta Company
March 17, 1971

Delta Company used patrol bases and had platoon patrolling their Area of Operation. At 0910hrs Delta Company Command Post, 1^st and 4^th Platoons is moving to BS639489, 2^nd Platoon is moving to BS653513 with 3^rd Platoon moving to BS650488. At 1130hrs Delta Company Command Post, 1^st and 4^th Platoon Patrol Base has changed to BS642491 and 3^rd Platoon Patrol Base has changed to BS650492. At 1915hrs Delta Command Post 1^st and 4^th platoon BS657486, 2^nd platoon BS651510, 3^rd Platoon in their Night Defense Position at BS650495.

Echo Company
March 17, 1971

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
