Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0055hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Priority Dust Off for 1 US with glass in his eyes, (CPT Garefino) completed at 0120hrs. At 0100hrs Blue Ghost 44 is on station for box 52, had negative findings. At 0817hrs Primo 5 is on station for Command and Control Helicopter. At 0920hrs Primo 5 is breaking station at this time. At 1255hrs RF 937 vicinity 745643 on patrol had 1 personnel, LT wounded when he trip a can of Petna Booby trap with a trip wire across a trial. Dust Off was called at 1300hrs, completed at 1315hrs patient was classified as priority by RF. Dust Off 54 picked him up and said he was very Urgent with frag wounds to both legs taken to 23 Medical. At 1345hrs S-4 Dolphin 423 is on station for re supply. At 2105hrs TMF time received 2054hrs Sting 314 B 4-5 stationary target metal confirmed and engaged at 2105hrs with 12 HE Artillery 105mm. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0832hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon patrol Base at BS724398, 2nd Platoon patrol Base BS705421 and Command Post with 3rd and 4th Platoons re supply point BS723433. At 1020hrs Alpha Company vicinity Bs723433, VIP Command Post group purchased 1 M-79, round from a 12 years old boy for 1 can of C-rations. At 1100hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon patrol is at checkpoint 2 vicinity BS730414 and 3rd Platoon patrol is at checkpoint 2 vicinity BS728447. At 1347hrs Alpha Company in response to sighting at BS676430, is sending the 2nd Platoon patrol along the western Area of Operation boundary vicinity BS685442, and put out multiple ambushes out tonight. At 1940hrs Alpha Company Command Post with 3rd and 4th Platoons at BS699562, 1st Platoon at BS739572 and 2nd Platoon at BS706421. At 2015hrs 3rd Platoon BS716436 had a Mechanical Ambush go off vicinity BS722436, they fired up the area with small arms and M-79, saw 6-8 personnel in the area, at least 1 had a weapon. Results 4 VC KIA, 1 male dressed in black and green, age 19 and 3 females 1 with ID dressed all back age 20, 22, 23, also found thick blood trails leading to the west. All KIA by small arms, 3 escaped, 1 VC definitely had a weapon, 1 female Le Thi Mai age 35 had an ID card, negative ID on the rest.
Bravo Company

At 0730hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving to BS693538, 2nd Platoon is moving to BS673572 and 3rd Platoon ambush closed vicinity BS699562. At 0805hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon ambush closed BS672572, 1st Platoon ambush closed at BS693538 and 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS699562. At 0950hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon patrol closed BS673572, 3rd Platoon patrol has closed on BS699562 and 1st Platoon patrol also closed at BS693538. At 1221hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS704568. At 1325hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS688526 and 3rd Platoon is en route to BS717558. Bravo Company continued their multiple patrols and at 1430hrs Bravo Company vicinity BS717558, 3rd Platoon reacting to a sighting received 4-5 small arms rounds from a wood line 200 meters to the east. They engaged with 81mm and will then sweep the contact area. At 1940hrs Bravo Company Command Post 3rd and 4th Platoon at BS699562 OP Wink, 2nd Platoon BS673572 OP Woodstock, 1st platoon BS693538 OP Pax ambush BS693537.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company at 0812hrs all element moving out to LZ Dragon and closed on LZ Dragon at 0900hrs and there are Vehicles en route to Dragon to pick up Charlie Company at this time. At 0951hrs Charlie Company en route to LZ Bronco for Stand Down and closed by 1034hrs for their Stand Down, at LZ Bronco.
Delta Company

At 0949hrs Delta Company (-) continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0924hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon at vicinity 763573, while on patrol from OP Frag the 3rd squad 1st Platoon engaged 5-8 VC/NVA approximately 200 meters to their west. Enemy were armed and dressed in all black and all green. Enemy returned fire with small arms fire and l M-60 machine gun (actually seen by patrol members). While Delta Company 3rd squad was closing on the enemy they detonated a Booby Trap, porcelain jar with Petna and rocks and a trip wire device, placed along a trail, resulting in 2WIA. 1 Vietnamese female received a gunshot wound to the head from AK-47 fire. She was walking to OP Frag and evacuated on the Dust Off completed at 0955hrs. The 3rd squad continued their sweep through the area with negative finding. Sharks come on station at 0955hrs engaged area heavy fire, squad again swept area again with negative results. On return to OP Frag 3rd squad tripped another bobby trap vicinity BS732571, M-26 hand grenade with trip wire release 1 US WIA-Dust Off 54 en-route to pick up site spotted movement northeast of pick up zone, he requested gun ships. Shark 8 on station at 1045hrs, Dust Off complete at 1053hrs. PFC Johnie Cole minor frag wounds (face and both legs) extracted on resupply ship to Battalion Aid. 1st Platoon closed at 1125hrs on OP Frag. At 2000hrs Delta Company OP Frag received 1 60mm round mortar round inside compound, came from the east distance 250 meters, negative results. PFC Fred W. Curbow (Multiple both legs and back) was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
