Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. 1-20 Infantry request for Air Strikes and Visual Recon DATE/TIME 181300-181700 January 1969.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1110hrs Alpha Company 19th Engineer reports at 758489 5 ton Dump Truck hit mine 1 Officer and 3 enlisted WIA prognoses unknown Vehicle total lost.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 0850hrs Alpha Company at BS770515 received heavy sniper fire, returned fire with negative assessment, call for Air Strike. At 0910hrs Alpha Company at BS763524 received 8 rounds sniper fire Helix 03 on station. At 1025hrs Alpha Company engaged 6 VC evading, results 4 VCS WIA CIA and 2 VCS CIA WIA where evac to 6th Support LZ Bronco. At 1134hrs Helix 03 for Alpha Company at BS763534 Alpha 60 report 4 huts and 2 or 3 bunkers destroyed by Air Strike. At 1200hrs Alpha Company has 30 and Command Post at BS763534. At 1720hrs Alpha Company at BS745584 engaged 1 VC who was evading results 1 VC KIA. At 1740hrs Alpha Company is on Dragon with 20 at BS723493 and 31 at BS719522. At 2255hrs Alpha Company observed 3 VC by use of a starlight scope 450meters west of their location.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1820hrs Bravo Company at BS724450 observed 3 NVA green uniforms with weapons, fired artillery and result was 1 NVA KBA.
Charlie Company
January 17, 1969
Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 0430hrs Charlie Company (-) moving out at 0545hrs and at 0600hrs Charlie Company was fired on by bunker line as it is moving south of Thunder. At 1015hrs Charlie Company 60 is located at BS855315. At 1425hrs Charlie Company at BS876337 detained 1 VC suspects for questioning.
Delta Company

Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and at 1015hrs 50 element is at BS916197. At 0925hrs SRRP Deros 1-20 Infantry at BS915170 pick up 1 VCS policing up 50caliber and M-60 brass, black PJ approximately 25 years old taking him to LZ Charlie Brown. At 1400hrs 1-20 infantry at BS925166 request Dust Off 1 man completed at 1335hrs, possible malaria case man is from E Troop, 1st Calvary working with Delta Company. At 1410hrs Delta Company 62 is now on Bridge 94. PFC Owen McWilliam was attached to 27th Surgical Hospital and SP4 Glenn D. Jackson was attached to 312th Evac Hospital.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0749hrs Recon Platoon is picked up at BS736382 and completed their Combat Assault at 0755hrs LZ is at BS791472 and LZ is cold. At 0925hrs Recon located detained 1 VCS for questioning BS790490 and at 1015hrs and at 1430hrs Recon Platoon 3 elements are extracted to LZ Liz by 1412hrs. Recon Platoon picks up their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1854hrs SRRP Boots spotted 3 NVA with green uniforms called in artillery with results 1 NVA KIA by artillery.
