Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0730hrs RDF at Sa Huynh are BS919227 an estimated squad with weapons walked into the village of La Dan appeared to be coming in for TET celebration engaged by RDF 1 VC KIA and 1 VC CIA with 1 RDF WIA Colonel Chapman investigating. At 0925hrs At BS919227 Colonel Chapman feels that is a mass confusion and had advised them to move the little people northwest, to regroup them and try and separate the enemy. Little people are just standing around. Having arranged a meeting with district chief to see if he can get it straighten out. At 1130hrs FAC at BS742561 found VC flag flying red on top, blue on bottom on bottom a yellow star. At 0900hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry the 11 element is at BS786375. At 1700hrs Charlie Company 3-1 Infantry reports locations 23 at BS753436, 21 at BS786378, 81 at BS771408, 61 at BS815492 and 66 at BS831381.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown with 21 on bridge 94 and 22 on bridge 95. Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with 61 at bridge 124 with 82 at BS753436 and 63 at BS754420. At 1700hrs Bravo Company locations 82 on bridge 124 with 24 at BS753436 and 69 at 754420. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP Dragnet located at BS640534 and Dana at BS857286.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1700hrs Charlie Company 21 is located at BS885324. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP Dragnet located at BS640534 and Dana at BS857286.
Delta Company
February 17, 1969
Delta Company 1-20 Infantry is OPCON to 4-21 Infantry continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 1430hrs Delta Company at BS646479 observed 2 VC carrying khaki bundles to the top of hill and engaged with Artillery with negative assessment. At 2210hrs Delta Company at BS728527 observed several lights 200 meters to west, engaged with negative assessment. 1-20 Infantry reports SRRP Dragnet located at BS640534 and Dana at BS857286.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1140hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS722447. At 1440hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS706434 on way to LZ Liz and closed by 1600hrs.
