At 0715hrs 1-20 Infantry Radar at 1625hrs at BS746498 spotted 6 to 8 personnel moving north received negative clearance and at 2005hrs spotted 8-10 stationary personnel with negative clearance. Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Alpha Company conducted multiple roving patrols along the assess road and conducts a Security Sweep to BS771412.
Bravo Company
April 17, 1970
Bravo Company continued their work with RF and PF and Security Mission for the hamlets, and the Pacification Program in their Area of Operation. Bravo Company will work with Road Security and conduct multiple Combat Sweeps in their area and set up multiple ambushes. Bravo Company will set up their Night Defense Position at BS783433.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company will again use multiple day ambushes and Search and Clear operations in their Area of Operation. At 0820hrs Charlie Company on a Search and Clear operation pick up one man 60 and will send him to Military Intelligence LZ Bronco. At 1105hrs Charlie Company at BS743438 found medical supplies in a hut, 600-700 pounds of unpolished rice, in a bin 500 pounds of unpolished rice under the floor of the hut and loose in a hole, clothing. Also there was messages, orders etc. 1 M-16 magazine loaded, small amount of medical supplies will evac all CIA to Bronco and at 1153hrs vicinity BS742447 detained 1 female 40, VCS and will evac to Bronco. At 1950hrs Charlie Company at BS742466 the 44 element while moving into their ambush location received M-79 round fired by VC from approximate grid BS734471, returned fire with small are fire with unknown results result 1 US WHA and Dust Off completed at 2000hrs. At 2050hrs Charlie Company at BS733483 04 element while moving to ambush location picked up VCS 21-25 no ID will hold until morning. At 2112hrs Charlie Company 04 at BS733428 picked up 2 females 20-25 of age both wearing black and with what appears to be false ID. At 2145hrs Charlie Company reports their multiply ambushes are all in position. At 2215hrs Charlie Company at BS743424 engaged 1 VC in ambush, with results of 1 VC KIA will check area again in the morning. Charlie Company reports Steven R. Carlisie (Friar) at 2010hrs treated and released B 23 Medical Frag wound to right leg.
Delta Company
April 17, 1970
Delta Company will established their 1st Day Logger at 772372 and use multiple patrolling and multiple Day Ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1002hrs Delta Company is at BS775374 detained 1 female age 25-30 wearing civilian clothing, negative ID, average health and evac to LZ Bronco. At 2145hrs Delta Company established their Night Defense Position at BS760437 with all their multiply ambushes are in location.
Echo Company
April 17, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1900hrs Recon Platoon is move to LZ Bronco to be on stand by reaction force from radar sighting on the Gaza Strip.
