Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Siberia and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0730hrs S-4 Resupply Bird is on station Minuteman 13. At 0945hrs 1-20 Infantry AMC is on station for Combat Assault of Bravo, Charlie and Delta Companies. 1st PZ at 1035hrs, 5th and Last LZ at 1144hrs Combat Assault is completed and AMC and Lift ships are released. Charlie Company to LZ Siberia, Bravo to LZ West Delta to their Area of Operations. At 1315hrs Resupply Ship on back haul to Chu Lai. At 1947hrs 1-20 Infantry reports Mechanical Ambushes out: Alpha 2, Delta 0 and Recon 0 to a total of 2 out.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
September 16, 1971
At 0925hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon moving out to AT 891264 and 2nd Platoon moving out to AT880262. At 1010hrs Alpha Company is at AT891264 while on patrol the Alpha Company Commanding Officer disturbed a Bee nest resulting in bee stings to the head and shoulders to him self and another individual. They and will be back haul to Chu Lai for treatment with resupply bird completed at 1315hrs. Alpha Company 2nd Platoon at 1040hrs closed on BS880262. At 1135hrs Alpha Company is at BS887260 with 2nd Platoon while on a search and clear operation found 5 tunnels in a row 1st was 3’ X 4’ X 12’ leads to a large room. The tunnels appeared not be used recently. At 1240hrs Alpha Company at AT887260 also found in front of Bunkers, 3 or 4 air holes along stream for the tunnels. At 1650hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon is moving to the Alpha Company Night Defense.
Bravo Company

At 0945hrs Combat Assault from Charlie Company, Delta Company and with Bravo Company taking over the Security Mission for LZ West, 1st PZ at 1035hrs and 5 and last LZ at 1145hrs and Bravo Company has taken over the Security Mission for LZ West with some Defense Patrolling around LZ West.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ West and is moving to LZ Siberia to take over their Security Mission. At 0945hrs 1-20 Infantry AMC is on station for Combat Assault of Bravo, Charlie and Delta Companies. 1st PZ at 1035hrs, 5th and Last LZ at 1144hrs Combat Assault is completed and AMC and Lift ships are released. Charlie Company to LZ Siberia and take over the Security Mission and Bravo Company to LZ West and Delta Company to their Area of Operations.
Delta Company

At 0940hrs Delta Company Delta Company has closed on Fire Support Base Siberia at this time at 0945hrs Combat Assault for Bravo Company, at 0945hrs (1-20 Infantry) AMC is on station for Combat Assault of Bravo, Charlie and Delta Companies. 1st PZ at 1035hrs, 5th and Last LZ at 1144hrs Combat Assault is completed and AMC and Lift ships are released. Charlie Company to LZ Siberia, Bravo to LZ West and Delta is to their Area of Operations. At 1805hrs Delta Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at AT863247 and closed at 1900hrs there will been the Recon Platoon in their position tonight.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Siberia, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1900hrs Recon reports their Night Defense Position at AT862247 spending the night with Delta Company.
