Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0400hrs LZ Liz Bunkers inspected # 12, 13, 14, and 15 all were OK. At 0755hrs LZ Liz Access Road is clear. At 1330hrs 1-20 Infantry Dolphin 3 is on station at this time. At 1315hrs Combat Assault Bravo Company and Charlie Company Bravo Company LZ Dragon Charlie Company Command post LZ vicinity BS710489, 1st Platoon LZ vicinity BS686514. Last LZ was # 6 at 1353hrs. At 1510hrs LATE SPOT RF 103 reports 151205 May at BS822425 they found 8 concrete reinforced bunkers and 4 tunnels, 1 poncho, several poncho liners, rice and a few homemade grenades, enough clothing for Squad size element and 4 wells. At 1512hrs LATE SPOT RF 103 on 151215 May at BS755624 found 1 bunker for 6 to 8 personnel (8’ X 8’) and destroyed. At 1515hrs LATE SPOT RF 103 and E Troop 1-1 Calvary on 151030 May at BS7510627 found 6 Chi Com grenades in a bunker and destroyed. At 1535hrs E Troop 1-1 Calvary at 0810hrs vicinity BS774536 track hit 1 mine plastic type, no casualties. Does not know extent of damage to track, blew off 2 road wheel and sprocket. At 1537hrs E Troop 1-1 Calvary destroyed 17 bunkers vicinity BS820440 along with RF 103 element found 55 gallons of rice, PRC 25 batteries, AK 47 rounds, assorted clothing, stoves and hammocks. At 1715hrs Dolphin 3 broke station at his time. At 2050hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes out: Alpha 9, Charlie 4, Delta 6 and Recon 1 for a total 20 out. At 2245hrs LZ Liz Bunker Line reports inspected # 13, 14, 15 and 16 all satisfactory. Legend: 1st Platoon 58, 2nd Platoon 16, 3rd Platoon 83, 4th Platoon 42, CO-07.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company used Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0701hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon is moving to their Patrol Base vicinity BS736396. At 0742hrs Alpha Company Command Post, 1st and 4th Platoon is moving to their Patrol Base vicinity BS755385 and closed at 0752hrs. At 0752hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon is moving to Patrol base at BS745377 and 2nd Platoon is at checkpoint 2 vicinity BS735397. At 0930hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon Kit Carson Scout found some documents in an old OD rug lying in a ditch, will be back hauled to Military as soon as possible, vicinity of BS745377, believe to be an assassination list of people in the Duc Pho area. At 1150hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon while on a security patrol around their perimeter vicinity BS746376 found 2 tunnels built into the river bank, 1st one was 2" in diameter and 25’ long, the entrance was concealed with brush and cane. It had an additional tunnel leading out of it, it ran for 15 meters back to river bank, the tunnels were 3 to 4 weeks old negative use recently and negative finding. Scout Dog alerted on both tunnels, Blew Tunnels. At 1235hrs 3rd Platoon vicinity BS745376 found 100 rice bowls, 100 plates and some cooking utensils destroy them. At 1402hrs Alpha Company Command Post in Patrol Base bought 1 M-79 round, 30 M-60 rounds and 20mm cannon round from 3 Coke Kids 7-9 with 3 bars of soap. Later bought 1 M-79 round and 15 M16 ammo from 2 Coke Kids 7-9 and gave the Kids 1 C Ration meal. At 1959hrs Alpha Company all in their Night Defense Position Command Post, 1st and 4th Platoon at BS758386, 2nd Platoon at BS739396 and 3rd Platoon at BS748380 with 9 Mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company

At 0706hrs Bravo Company has Command Post with 2nd and 4th Platoons in PZ vicinity BS686514 at this time. Bravo Company and Charlie Company conduct a Combat Assault 1st PZ 1316hrs and last LZ 1353hrs. Bravo Company takes over the Security Mission for LZ Liz and Road Security.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1032hrs Charlie Company on the move to LZ Dragon at this time and closed at 1050hrs. Charlie Company with Bravo Company conducted Combat Assault Bravo Company to LZ Liz and Charlie Company to BS710489 1st PZ 1316hrs and last LZ at 1353hrs. At 1459hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon set up their Patrol Base at BS673516, and Charlie Company at BS713484 found a trench line 100meters long running north to south, dug into the side of mountain. It had been used within the last 48 hours, the heavy overheard cover made it unobservable from the air. At 1615hrs vicinity BS714494 found several empty boxes, which contained bicycle parts, also were 10 5 gals’ cans. 8 of the cans were empty out had contained rice. 1 Can was ¾ full of polished rice and 1 can full of polished rice, and there were also many fresh footprints in the area. There had been personnel in the area within the 12 hours. At 2051hrs Charlie Company all elements in Night Defense Position, Command Post and 2nd Platoon at BS712492, 2nd Platoon ambush at BS711494, 1st Platoon at BS681518, 1st Platoon ambush at BS689525 and 3rd Platoon at Nui Vong.
Delta Company

At 0700hrs Delta Company 1st and 2nd Platoons in their Patrol Base will be at BS708448. At 1015hrs Delta Company request Urgent Dust Off at BS692477 for 1 US with multiple frag wounds to body clause by a booby trap line # W9895, booby trap was a hand frag in tall grass, couldn’t find firing device, Bird #88 completed Dust Off at 1030hrs. At 1115hrs Delta Company request 1 priority Dust Off, vicinity BS696473 for 1 US vomiting and stomach cramps line #P6134, Bird #88 completed at 1138hrs. All Delta Company patrols closed on their Patrol Bases at 1816hrs. At 2007hrs Delta Company all element in their Night Defense Command Post, 3rd and 4th Platoon at BS698472 and 1st and 2nd Platoons at BS708448. At 2015hrs Delta Company at 1935hrs had 1 Mechanical Ambush detonate vicinity BS691463, CO thinks faulty wiring caused it, will check it out in morning.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0745hrs Recon is moving out to BS702427 with Command Post Blue at vicinity BS7442. At 0940hrs Recon while on patrol vicinity BS733421 found covered ditch with drag marks made by sticks-foot prints indicate 3 to 4 people. It is very fresh approximately last night, also are some blood trails indicting whatever, was being dragged was wounded, are searching the area further at this time. At 1729hrs Recon is moving to Night Defense Position at BS702421. At 1905hrs Recon spotted 1 VC with pack and weapons moving north vicinity BS707421, while waiting for artillery Fire Mission received 5 to 8 rounds small arms fire from the above grid, returned fire (their weapons could not reach 800 meters) Artillery came in and will sweep at 1st Light. At 1949hrs Recon is in their Night Defense Position at BS715425.
