Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0905hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer at BS717590 south mine sweep team received rounds small arms sniper fire. Returned fire and continued sweep. At 1145hrs Helix 03 at BS624545 spotted man moving north on trail called at present. At 1420hrs 1-20 reports the LRRP at BS625531 spotted 3 VC Black PJ at BS617533 walking toward village. At 1735hrs LRRP Idaho at BS620533 reports 6 VC with packs, and weapons heading west into village, Gun Ships called. At 1820hrs IRRP Idaho located at BS620553 requested to be extraction.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1450hrs Task Force 80-2 at BS898268 convoy ambushed at above coordinate result 1 WHA request Dust OFF and Gun Ship completed at 1455hrs.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company has the security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 1130hrs Alpha Company at BS708548 engaged 3 to 4 VC with weapon, negative results, and at 1337hrs at BS715545 engaged 4 VC evading results in 1 VC KIA and 3 VC suspects CIA. At 1440hrs Alpha at BS692528 found base plate for 60mm mortar, evac. And that 1445hrs at BS712536 detained 3 VC suspects for questioning. Alpha Company is on LZ Dragon with 32 at BS733503 and 33 at BS720504. At 1955hrs 1-20 Infantry reports that documents reported picked up by Alpha Company: 1. Found Breakdown of black list of PF, RF, and ARVN Troops in this area, also numerous letters to PF and RF to rally to the VC cause also a Chinese book in Vietnamese about field tactics. While checking Ville this morning, received some sniper fire and after entering and searching huts, found several documents and a Chinese book in Vietnamese in a hut.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz with 20 at BS730450 and 60 at BS766381. At 1445hrs Bravo Company at BS778532 detained 2 VC suspects for questioning and at 1510hrs detained 2 more VC suspects for questioning.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1145hrs Charlie Company is located at BS884317. At 1900hrs Charlie 32 element is located at BS830385.
Delta Company

Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and the Bridges in their Area of Operation. At 1900hrs Delta Company location are 62 at Bridge 84 with 21 at BS918196 and the 52 element at BS920187.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued the SRRP operations in their Area of Operation with light enemy activities. At 0830hrs Recon reports their location at 726472. AT 1345hrs Recon at BS769513 observed 2 VC Black PJ, with packs and weapons walking southwest, also 5 male carrying empty A frames walking south. At 1835hrs SRRP Asst Tora reports at BS695524 1 VC KIA and their location BS707526 also at 1900hrs SRRP Boots at BS718456 spotted 4 VC in open at BS723451 with negative assessment. At 1950hrs Recon Platoon has reported their location at BS736380.
