Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1520hrs 1-20 Infantry will conduct a Combat Assault with Charlie Company at 1600hrs on 17 January 1968 at BS784307. All other units will conduct a Search and Destroy Operations.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0120hrs 6th Support Bunker 58 & 56 reported 2 VC running across rice paddy. Bunker 58 & 26 engaged VC with negative results. At 0832hrs Report Road open north no convoy today, have 1 vehicle from 1-20 Infantry no escort. At 2115hrs Bunker #3 saw 3 individuals moving vicinity grid BS838367, individuals were fired on with possible 1 KIA.
Alpha Company
January 16, 1968
Alpha Company at 0008hrs observed 5 to 6 VC vicinity BS867336 engaged with small arms fire and Artillery Fire Mission was brought in and at 0025hrs broke contact and Dust Off, 1 WHA PFC Aubery, Eugene wounds in leg (Check Morning Report). Alpha Company at 0200hrs is located now at BS865337 and set up their Night Logger Position. At 1152hrs Alpha Company and Recon have closed to LZ Thunder and will remain there until tonight.
Bravo Company
January 16, 1968
Bravo Company continued to conduct Search and Destroy Operations in their Area of Operation and Security Mission from LZ OD. At 1050hrs Bravo Company SPOT REPORT they are pursuing 2 VC in vicinity BS760337. At 1435hrs Bravo Company observed 4 persons with packs and canteens evading to distant to engage continuing to search coordinates BS770348.
Charlie Company
January 16, 1968
At 0200hrs Charlie Company at BS767387 moving to BS762398 and closed on their location at 0350hrs. Charlie Company runs a Cordon and Search Operation to day on Villages at BS7740 and BS7840 at first light. At 1152hrs Charlie 1-20 Infantry found 250 pounds rice ammo can with medical supplies and documents at BS771439.
Delta Company
January 16, 1968
Delta Company continued to conduct Recon in Force patrols in their Area of Operation and continued their bridge security and to conduct the Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown.
Echo Company
January 16, 1968
Echo Company and 4.2 platoon and radar platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. At 0858hrs Recon reports their location at BS825336 and move to take their bridge security. At 1152hrs Recon reports their have close on LZ Thunder until tonight.
