Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1000hrs 1-20 Infantry we request Warlord coverage for the following areas: BS740420 to BS760370 and along the Area of Operation to BS720420. Check the trails from the foothills and Delta Company reported position in vicinity BS735406 yesterday. At 1437hrs AJAX Alpha Company 97, Bravo Company 117, Charlie Company Stand down, Delta Company at LZ Bronco, Recon Platoon 48, and 4.2 Platoon 24. Brigade to 1-20 Infantry All units will check bunkers twice daily, must be checked by a NCO or Officer and the bunker must have a plum bob and the report is to be phone in to Brigade TOC. At 1929hrs From Brigade All personnel wearing ARVN uniforms will be thoroughly checked prior to being allowed to enter fire base.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0952hrs 1-20 Infantry Bad Lot of 81mm ammo (dud Illumination) Lot No 80247, report any on hand. Brigade to 1-20 Infantry All units will check bunkers twice daily, must be checked by a NCO or Officer and the bunker must have a plum bob and the report is to be phone in to Brigade TOC.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. The 14 patrol will close on LZ Liz at 2020hrs and the 35 SRRP is in their snake location BS761409.
Bravo Company
December 16, 1969
Bravo Company is using Multiple Patrolling and Sweep and Clear Operation with the Vietnamese in their Area of Operation. They detainee multiple personnel who where evaded to Military Intelligence. At 0605hrs Bravo 32 is moving out to their patrol at BS776407. At 0610hrs Bravo Company the Ranger are moving out to grid BS799431. At 0615hrs Bravo 14 element is moving to BS790438. At 0700hrs Bravo Company the 14 element spotted 3 Vietnamese civilians evading them at Checkpoint 2 (BS801441), we fired on the individuals, with negative results. At 0710hrs Bravo Company the 15 element is checking the area we fired on last nigh. At 0715hrs Bravo Company requested URGENT Dust Off 1 VC female with a M-14 gun shot wound of the back 20 to 30 years old. The PF with the Ranger unit engaged the three suspects. In checking out the area we found 1 other female 40-50 years old. Dust Off was completed at 0730hrs and 2nd Dust Off was completed at 0740hrs. At 0730hrs Bravo Company the 32 element picked up 5 Vietnamese female detainees, no ID cards. The PF say the Vietnamese are VC and we are taking them to the Command Post for questioning. At 0810hrs Bravo Company the 5 Vietnamese female detainees with the 32 elements the PF let 3 go and now only holding 2 for questioning. At 1930hrs Bravo Company the 75 element is in location at BS789426 and the 76 element is at BS796899. At 0950hrs Bravo 14 element has linked up with the Ranger Team and will be working with them and by 0955hrs The Rangers area at checkpoint 5 and returning to BS783433. At 1115hrs Bravo Company tonight other snake location is BS789426. This will be the 76 location we will have 5 Vietnamese with them and leave at the same time as the other snakes. At 1854hrs Bravo Company reports 15 is at BS783437amd the 75 element is moving to BS789426 and closed at 1930hrs.
Charlie Company

Delta Company
December 16, 1969
At 0300hrs the Delta Company 34 snake sprung their ambush on one VC/NVA that set off a trip flare with negative results. At 0546hrs Delta 32 element and 34 has joined at grid BS737407 to secure the back haul. We are blowing about 500 rounds of M-60 ammo and about 1800 rounds of M-16 ammo and anything else of no value, these are items found in their search yesterday. We are now moving to our 2nd objective at BS4775385 with negative results. The 74, 76, and elements 36 have closed on Liz and the 32 element has moved across one river toward Liz. At 1150hrs Delta Company we are on the Red Ball at this time and will be leaving in to 10 minutes for LZ Bronco.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0630hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Missions, Observed Missions with total expend 68 HE, 1 WP and 8 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon the Little John snake has closed on BS833437. At 0832hrs Recon Platoon the Salvage boat was on station but the tide was to high to do anything, we will be back around 1200hrs. At 1130hrs Recon Tonight snake location is 823443 for Little Al. About the operation tomorrow we will wait to see how the weather is before making plans. At 1315hrs Recon Plans for tomorrows for the Recon in Force patrol leaving BS833437 and moving to BS810442 the Will Scarlet element will be their reactionary force and little al will remain at grid BS833437.
