Headquarters and Headquarter Company
December 16, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Volunteer and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II. At 2230hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports at Minh Long Special Forces Camp 1 hand grenade was thrown into a Quonset hut in which 8 US personnel were sleeping with results 8 US WHA. Report 1 very serious, 1 serious, 3 minor, total of 7 evac and Dust Off completed at 2340hrs source of Hand Grenade is unknown at this time. Casualties 1 26 Engineer Thompson, 4 6 Support Wafer, Lefta, Lee, Richard, 3 Charlie 26 Engineer Villaneuva, Pila and Belwood with 7 WHA 2 where released none of the other 5 are on the critical list.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.

Alpha Company
December 16, 1968

Alpha Company had provided security for the Artillery move from LZ Snoopy to Minh Long and returned to their Area of Operation. At 1030hrs Alpha Company (-) locations, at BS488604 with 21 at BS486608, 91 is at BS483603 and 61 is at BS496603. At 2100hrs Alpha Company Night Defense Position is located at BS488604 with 21 at BS486608.

Bravo Company
December 16, 1968

Bravo Company will continue their Search and Clear Operations continue in the Area of Operation. Bravo Company locations at 1030hrs Command Position is at BS439600, 21 BS440598, 91 BS437598 and 61 at BS437602. At 2100hrs Bravo Company Night Defense Position is at BS448608.

Charlie Company
December 16, 1968

Charlie Company will continue to use Search and Destroy Operations in their Area of Operation and established their Night Defense Position at BS486625.

Delta Company
December 16, 1968

Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Cork. Tactical Operations Center and Delta Company was air lifted from LZ Volunteer to LZ Cork with security element being air lifted out last.

Echo Company
December 16, 1968

Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 1030hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS458621. At 1155hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS455614. At 1800hrs Recon Platoon has closed on LZ Cork.
