Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0555hrs the Battalion Command message is given to all companies." Carry your protective mask in the field". At 1940hrs Bravo Company Command Post has contact with all bunkers.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company
August 16, 1969
At 0202hrs Alpha Company we have just received approximately 4 incoming mortar rounds with negative casualties. Alpha Company is working up a fire mission for artillery at this time. At 0550hrs Alpha Company 55 snake closed on the Night Defense Position. At 1920hrs Alpha Company 21 element is moving into their location at this time and at 1950hrs my 21 element has a new location BS716599.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz along with Access Road.
Charlie Company
August 16, 1969
At 0600hrs Charlie Company will use Day Logger, Recon in Force and patrolling with some clover leaf operations in their Area of Operation. At 2010hrs Charlie Company has moved into their Night Defense Position BS784405, the 21 and 22 elements are in their ambush positions.
Delta Company
August 16, 1969
Delta Company moved to the Day Logger at BS735440, and started their Recon in Force operations. At 1830hrs they have established their Night Defense with two snakes out.
Echo Company
August 16, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0945hrs 4.2 Platoon reports 1 Defense Target, Observe Mission 2, with total expend 46 HE, 4 WP and 2 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1350hrs Recon Platoon reports we are now moving out from LZ Liz at this time. At 1420hrs Recon Platoon is at checkpoint 2 and at 1431hrs at checkpoint 3 and on their way back to LZ LIZ. At 1450hrs Recon is now closed on LZ Liz. At 1845hrs Recon Platoon reports we have joined with the 26th Engineers and are leaving the wire.
