Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0405hrs 1-20 Infantry Saber Black is on station for Box 61, fogged in, broke station for fuel at 0435hrs entered Box 62, broke station at 0535hrs with negative findings. At 0650hrs 1-20 AMC is on station (Rattler 16). At 0815hrs MACV Mo Duc at BS745666 requested Urgent Dust Off for 1 RF with multiple frag wounds from booby trap with negative US on ground, Dust Off 54 completed at 0735hrs. At 0825hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 3 is on station. At 0840hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road is open. At 0850hrs Alpha Company Combat Assault 1 F-74 LZ 0730hrs, 2. F-39 LZ 0748hrs, 3. F-52-57 LZ 0843hrs. Combat Assault is completed and AMC is off station at 0850hrs. At 0915hrs MACV Mo Duc, Urgent Dust Off for 3 Vietnamese civilians female with multiple frag wounds from booby trap, Dust Off 54 completed at 0930hrs vicinity BS740540. At 0945hrs Brigade need daily at least 1 preplanned Air Strike target by 0900hrs, if desired, may sent in weekly list can be more if desired. At 1040hrs Bravo Company departed LZ Liz for LZ Bronco Stand down area. At 1330hrs 1-20 Infantry 17 (730) is on station for re supply. At 1635hrs From Brigade, Air Strike from 19 to 25 cleared by CPT Ross for grids BS797476, BS813452, BS795489, BS802458, BS809443, BS801461 and BS794469. Will take place between 0600hrs and 1800hrs on about dates. At 1935hrs Saber 40 is on station for Box 61 breaks station at 2000hrs with negative findings. At 2230hrs 1-20 Infantry 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road reports that the Vietnamese location at grid BS783444 was under attack, Illumination was fired at 2235hrs, taking small arms fire, returned fire, 4.2 Illumination was fired, unknown results. At 2345hrs access road reported that a grid BS786436 VC had started burning some hootches, as of this time casualties and damage is unknown. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0850hrs Alpha Company Combat Assault 1st PX 0718hrs and last LZ at 0843hrs and moving into LZ Liz and Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 2230hrs 1-20 Infantry 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Access Road reports that the Vietnamese location at grid BS783444 was under attack, Illumination was fired at 2235hrs, taking small arms fire, returned fire, 4.2 Illumination was fired, unknown results. At 2345hrs access road reported that a grid BS786436 VC had started burning some hooch’s. As of this casualties and damage is unknown.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company at 1040hrs departed LZ Liz for LZ Bronco and closed at 1115hrs for their Stand Down.
Charlie Company
April 16, 1971
At 0715hrs Charlie Company all Day ambushes have closed with 3rd Platoon ambush is at BS744415 and 2nd Platoon ambush is at BS734436. Also the 1st Platoon ambush closed at BS717413hrs. At 0900hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon is moving to their Patrol Base vicinity BS716436, 3rd Platoon in Patrol Base vicinity BS744408, Command Post and 4th Platoon in Patrol Base at BS715415 and 1st Platoon in Patrol Base vicinity of BS708413. At 1330hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon at BS711436, while on patrol found 2 dead bodies, drag marks in the area, bodies were approximately 7-10 old. Also in area was a will used trail leading into the mountain. On 4 April B 6/11 Artillery fired on 5-7 moving at BS711437 B Battery 6/11 Artillery get the credit. At 1645hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out to BS730408 and 3rd Platoon ambush changed to BS741402. At 1750hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon found vicinity BS738407 60 pounds of spoiled rice in 2 metal cans, 2-3 bags of candy, 2 packages of tobacco, and some fish. Found all this items in a brush line and in some old bunkers all blew in place. At 1924hrs Charlie Company Command Post and 4th Platoon Night Defense Position at BS717417 in location at this time. At 1949hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon in location at BS729408.
Delta Company

Delta Company started out from Patrol bases and patrols. At 0620hrs Delta Company changes 1st/3rd Platoons move to new Patrol Base vicinity BS649542 and at 0641hrs Delta Company Command Post, 4th and 2nd Platoon are moving out for BS667553. At 1200hrs Delta Company 1st and 3rd platoon in their Patrol Base BS656543 found 1 booby trap, it was a C-ration can of Petna with smoke grenade fuse and trip wire across the trail. It was 2-3 days old, blew in place. At 1901hrs Delta Company Command Post and 4th Platoon Night Defense Position changed to BS665551 in that location at this time. At 1948hrs Delta Company 3rd and 1st Platoons in their location at BS649542. At 2040hrs Delta Command Post 2nd Platoon at BS668551.
Echo Company
April 16, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. Recon Platoon continued to remain on OP Wink to provide security for the TMF location.
