Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1620hrs 1-20 Infantry request time extension on Area of Operation extension till 191800hrs to run patrols and possible another Combat Assault and was approved.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0800hrs Charlie Company 26 Engineer at BS811397 detected 1 appears to be mine of unknown type on right side of road destroyed in place leaving crater 2’ diameter and 1 ˝‘deep notified Convoy Control. At 2000hrs a 2 ˝ ton truck, turned over on LZ Bronco at an unknown time in the P.M, injuring 13 Vietnamese passengers injuries were treated at A & D Medical. Military Police still investigating and at 2130hrs injured Vietnamese where taken to Duc Pho.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Alpha Company conducted roving patrols along assess road and Security sweeps around LZ Liz.
Bravo Company
April 16, 1970
Bravo Company working with RF and PF Platoons with sweeps and day and night ambushes and Search and Clear operations in their Area of Operation. Bravo Company conducts a Combat Assault PZ 1700hrs and LZ at 1720hrs for a quick cordon and search operation. At 1810hrs Bravo Company at BS783471 element called out into bunker received no reply engaged with hand grenade with results 1 VC female KIA found 1 Dud 8" round and blew it in place. At 1833hrs Bravo Company requested a Dust Off for 1 RF with frag wounds from booby trap grenade with trip wire, Dust Off completed at 1858hrs. Bravo Company established their Night Defense Position at BS783433.
Charlie Company
April 16, 1970
Charlie Company will use multiple day ambushes and Platoon patrols in their Area of Operation. Charlie Company will detain 11 VCS today to be interrogated and at 1940hrs they have one VC CIA evading. Charlie Company found 3 different rice caches 800 pounds, 1000 pounds and 1000 pounds of unpolished rice in BS7443 area. Charlie Company will establish their Night Defense Position at BS743438. At 2300hrs Charlie Company at BS744448 the 62 element sprung ambush on suspected movement approximate 15 to 20 meters to east and west engaged with small arms fire. Checked area found 1 M-16 magazines with ammo lying in from of family size bunker will check again in morning.
Delta Company

Delta Company established a Day Logger at BS773385 and used patrols out of their on Search and Clear operations and used multiple day ambushes in their Area of Operations. At 0845hrs Delta Company at BS782387 while moving from Night Defense Position to Day Logger, picked up one male, has ID says he is 16 but he is well over 20, will evac to Military Intelligence LZ Bronco. At 1150hrs Delta Company is located at BS782385. Delta Company established their Night Defense Position at BS782389.
Echo Company
April 16, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 4.2 Platoon has no report available. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
