Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Cork and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II. At 1050hrs Aerial Scouts at 1050hrs received heavy automatic weapons and small arms fire, expended ammo with negative assessment. At 1930hrs S-2 1-20 Infantry TOC examine report on tunnels and holes in Arc Light area entrances at BS416570-BS415572-BS413573, 2 holes BS417574-BS417572 and examine at present time BS418572 structure support of what appears to be large underground room. Order indicates bodies or humans recently in area. Also found unidentified Chi Com explosives will continue to examine area.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0615hrs E Troop at BS813366 reported track hit mine, results 5 WIA evac 3, 2 minor Dust Off is completed. SP5 Bruce N. Foreman sick evac at 1055hrs attached to 312th Evac Hospital. At 1030hrs 26 Engineer at BS813369 mine sweep team found spot was in middle of road, hole was 4.5’ deep and 9’ wide about 15 meters south of bridge 112, checking area, checked area and continued the sweep.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company conducted to use Combat Sweep operation in their Area of Operations and at 1250hrs Alpha Company is located at BS446554. At 1435hrs Alpha and Bravo Company are located at BS445560 their Night Defense Position. At 1930hrs Alpha Company reports excavated tunnels and holes in Arc Light area, with Entrances at BS416570, BS415572 and BS413578. Two holes at BSBS417574 and BS418572 and excavation at present time at BS418572 struck metal support of what appears to be a large underground room. The order indicates bodies are human recently in are, also found unknown type Chi Com explosives, will continue the excavation.
Bravo Company

At 0930hrs Bravo Company at BS448562 engaged 2 NVA KIA, 1 AK-47 and 1 M1 carbine and assorted documents CIA. Also in sweeping area we have 2 carbine magazines, 1 pistol belt and NVA was caring green uniforms. At 1250hrs Bravo Company is located at BS447560. At 1435hrs Bravo and Alpha Companies have join at BS445560 for their Night Defense Position.
Charlie Company

Delta Company

Delta Company continued to conduct their Combat Sweep and Clear operations in their Area of Operations. At 1250hrs Delta Company reports their locations Command Post at BS416564, 133 at BS426566. At 1930hrs Delta Company has moved into their Night Defense Position at BS417565.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 1009hrs Recon Platoon conducts a Combat Assault to BS437591 1st PZ 1009hrs and LZ last 1028hrs and LZ cold. At 1250hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS436591. At 1435hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS437583.
