Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0815hrs TMF Fire Mission time 0806hrs String 66 fired a battery of 6 VT 105 rounds at 4 persons moving at 3 miles per hour northwest to southeast, it was confirmed by metal. The shot was fired at 0814hrs Visual Recon team was requested but was not available on another mission. At 1332hrs TMF String 75 has changes and String 73 has changed grids will be available later. At 1615hrs Brigade the 4-21 Infantry requested Area of Operation extension B86 be extended to BS7831 to BS7835 and east to BS8135 also Date/time/grid extended to 201800hrs It was approved by Major Bassett and the 4-3 Infantry disapproved cancel out. LEGEND: 1st Platoon 14-19, 2nd Platoon 54-59, 3rd Platoon 34-39, Co- 21.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1820hrs Alpha Company the 56 elements access road snakes are in position.
Bravo Company
July 15, 1970
Bravo Company continued their joint Operations with PF and RF units on their Hamlet Pacification and security of Highway 1. At 0625hrs Bravo Company the 58 element spotted 3 VC at 729590, the VC have not seen the 58 element yet. The 57 and 58 element join up and getting sniper fire at BS733595. They had contact with squad which evaded to the south, they engaged at 200 meters. At 0655hrs the 58 element found in a wood line 1 VC KIA, negative ID or weapon, approximately 17 years old dressed with a gray top and purple pants, with 2 VC CIA 25 and 30 years old, negative ID, no weapons or equipment. At 0700hrs Bravo Company 57 element Urgent Dust Off was requested at BS729590 by Bravo Company 57 element was receiving sniper fire a member of the Armed Propaganda Team received a gun shot in the buttocks Dust Off completed at 0725hrs. At 0728hrs Bravo 57 right after the Dust Off sniper fire started Requested Gun Ships they were on station at 0750hrs to 0815hrs they broke. Delta Company 58 and 57 elements are maneuvering against enemy at their time. At 1000hrs Bravo Company has 2 more female detainees at checkpoint and will evac to Military Intelligence. At 1300hrs Bravo Company the 24 element received ordinance from a civilian the following was in good condition: 11 60mm, 7 M-26 US Hand Frag, 3 Chi Com grenades. At total of 3200 piasters were paid for the whole lot. The name of the individual delivering the merchandise was Cong. At 1947hrs Bravo Company 57 element is moving to BS683602, the 36 element is moving to BS743664, the 58 element is in position at BS724610.
Charlie Company

At 1050hrs Charlie Company spotted 1 VC Black PJ and he evade with results KIA by M-16 fire 50 meters. Items found 1 home made rucksack, knife, medical supplies, clothing, 10 pounds of rice and 1 NVA canteen, destroyed everything except Medical Supplies and found small base camp. At 1200hrs Charlie Company is located at BS609550. At 1845hrs Charlie Company is located at BS610556 and continued their Search and Clear Operation.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued to use Day ambushes and saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0710hrs Delta Company the changes in day Logger include the following 54-20-14 at BS765557, the 56 element is at BS763560, the 34 has changed to BS758565, the 24 is at be at BS752576 and the 28 patrol is at BS749582 and the 38 patrol is at BS768560. At 0715hrs Delta Company the 54 element has 2 female detainees at BS759554. Both are dressed in all black, approximately ages are 25 to 35, neither had ID. Their names are Do Thei Tu and Wguyen Ti Hea will evac to LZ Bronco. It is believed that 1 of these individuals is on a Mo Duc enemy black list. At 0830hrs Delta Company the 56 element brought in 1 female detainee who says she is 23 years old, no ID. Her name is Wguyen Thei Nvoc and they will evac to Military Intelligence. At 1645hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon received sniper fire and returned fire, from 200 meters to the south. The found 1 KIA with AK-47 (wearing back pants and blue shirt) he was 20 to 25 years old male. Then a PF spotted 1 person in a bunker, put three, hand frag in and 1 more KIA, female wearing black pants and blue shirt, age 45 years old and they also pick-up one female detainee, no ID approximately 20 years old. They brought her to Poser 20 who took her to Military Intelligence, then requested a pink team. The male KIA had a web belt, 2 Chi Com and 3 US grenades vicinity BS758580. At 2009hrs Delta Company reports all elements in their Night Defense Position with multiply snake location.
Echo Company
July 15, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0510hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Fires 1 for a total expended of 9 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0630hrs Recon Platoon the 21 and 22 element linked up at BS787383 to await the TNF people. At 1325hrs Recon Platoon has closed on the Hill (LZ Liz) with the TMF personnel.
