Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0001hrs MACV Duc Pho: Little people report US firing rifles off LZ Thunder Killed 1 Vietnamese female in street, request permission to retrieve her, permission denied. At 0800hrs 1-20 Infantry LRRP Faker is located at BS640543. At 1200hrs 1-20 Infantry at BS769388 pick up 1 male VCS, turned over to IPW cage, Duc Pho.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0930hrs Alpha Company 19 Engineer at BS758489, 5-ton dump truck, hit mine. 2 US WHA, one EM had broken left leg and lacerations in face, the prognosis on the two EM is undetermined Dust Off to Duc Pho The truck was a total lost, mine was 30 to 40 pounds.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company has the Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 0625hrs Alpha Company is moving to Southeast in RD Zone. At 0615hrs a present time are in location for cordon at BS746502. At 0800hrs Alpha Company at BS748501 engaged 1 VCS evading, and the results in 1 WIA CIA. At 1145hrs Alpha Company at BS761548 engaged 1 VC evading and the result is 1 VC KIA. At 1235hrs Alpha Company at BS744596 detained 15 VC suspects and turned them over to MACV for questioning. At 1525hrs Alpha Company at BS745544 CIA 5 VCS 2 released to ARVN, 1st LT Trai Vng, 3 turned over to Mo Duc.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1230hrs Bravo Company at BS747389 found M-26 Hand grenade, 13 rounds of .30 cal ammo, 200 rounds of 7.62 ammo and destroyed it in place. At 1740hrs Bravo Company at BS792470 engaged 3 VC evading, results in 1 VC KIA, 1 K-44 SN: 9200517 CIA.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 0953hrs Charlie Company at BS874339 found and destroyed 2 Punji pits. At 1540hrs Charlie Company at BS863351 detained 3 VC suspects for questioning.
Delta Company

Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and the Bridges in their Area of Operation. SP4 Mark A. Anderson was evac to 27th Surgical Hospital.
Echo Company
January 15, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued the SRRP operations in their Area of Operation with light enemy activities. At 1725hrs Recon at BS728453 observed 6 VC with packs, called in artillery with negative assessment. At 1950hrs reports their SRRP location at BS736380.
