Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0415hrs 1-20 Infantry At 1940hrs Radar spotted 6 to 8 stationary personnel at BS719423 and engaged with 5-6 rounds 8 HE Artillery 155 and at 2045hrs sighted 5 to 6 moving northeast at BS763458 but had negative clearance. At 0210hrs sighted 4-6 stationary personnel at BS71684432 engaged with 9 HE 4.2 Mortar and at 0245hrs spotter 4 to 6 moving south at BS74274366 engaged with 6 HE 4.2 Mortar. At 0550hrs TMF target at BS72754500 6-8 personnel northwest to southwest engaged with 3 HE rounds 4.2 Mortar. At 0740hrs Battalion Commanding Officer departed for LZ Liz to Chu Lai and returned at 1010hrs. At 0730hrs 1-20 Infantry to Delta Company check foothills and trails in grid squares BS7147, BS7246, BS7245 and give plans for this ASAP, ambush from between 46 and 50 grid line.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
February 15, 1970
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1340hrs Alpha Company bunkers all bunkers satisfactory with plumb bobs, inspected by CPT Thomas. At 1945hrs all elements is location 37 at BS770411, 46 at BS761438, 75 at BS766411, and 36 at BS773442. At 2055hrs Alpha Company elements spotted movement going north along access road engaged with small arms fire and checked area with negative finding.
Bravo Company
February 15, 1970
Bravo Company is using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today. At 0547hrs Bravo Company Bravo 35 has closed on their location. At 0625hrs Bravo Company 76 snake has closed and the Company 32 patrol moving out to grid BS800412. At 0639hrs Bravo Company 44 and 47 patrols are moving out 44 to checkpoint 1 at BS790437 and 47 to checkpoint 1 at BS802431. At 0645hrs Bravo Company 75 patrol is moving out to checkpoint 1 at BS783443. At 0705 Bravo Company reports the 44 element at checkpoint 1 at BS790437 and Bravo Company 32 at checkpoint 1 at BS818414. At 0826hrs Bravo Company 44 has closed on the Command Post. At 0850hrs Bravo Company at grid BS733473 found 1 booby trap 60mm mortar round stuck in a large can, it was a trip wire type, will blow in place. At 0957hrs Bravo Company reports the 44 element has closed and the 35 element in their blocking position. At 1025hrs Bravo Company at BS800435 picked up two VC detainees, 1 female, age 55, negative ID wearing black PJ, she was hiding behind a bunker. Also picked up 1 male age 25 years, negative ID, wearing blue and white striped shorts and a blue sweater and the 2 detainees will be sent back through MACV channels. At 1055hrs Bravo Company reference Chieu Hoi just VC no title but knows location of same tunnels within these tunnels the location of some VC (unknown number) and some weapons. At 1155hrs Bravo Company the 42 element pick up a Chieu Hoi and in progress of leading element to various VC and arms caches (he was the Security hamlet chief for top An BAE) and today we are having negative findings. At 1500hrs Bravo Company Cheiu Hoi was picked up by the 42 element at BS811423, he was dressed in green shirt and shorts and was carrying 1 M-26 hand grenade. At 1610hrs Bravo Company reports all element have closed on their Location at this time. At 1915hrs Bravo Company reports 46 moving to BS789434, 74 moving to BS770446 and at 1940hrs the 46 snake in location at BS789422. At 2037hrs Bravo Company the 74 element is in location at BS770446. At 2255hrs Bravo Company reports the 36 snake is location at BS788415.
Charlie Company
February 15, 1970
At 1156hrs Charlie Company 32 element found one AK 47 with magazine 28 rounds with weapon and was cut down on butt for modifications in length. Person who found weapon on riverbank near vicinity of contact made last night. At 1355hrs Dolphin 17 spotted some camouflaged hootches on the beach at BS838428, Dolphin 17 destroyed hootches, also spotted one Vietnamese male at BS814420 on the beach, Charlie Company check him out and captured a boy 11 years old and sent him west to the Red Ball. At 1805hrs Charlie Company Night Defense Position BS822422 and closed at 1942hrs, with multiple ambushes out tonight. Charlie Company locations 42 at BS810439, 43 to BS806444, 45 at BS815535, 32 to BS817438, and 34 at BS823417, 32 to BS819424, 71 to BS830407, 74 to BS827413 and 76 to BS834405. At 2025hrs Charlie Company are all in their locations.
Delta Company

At 0730hrs Delta Company checked the foothills and trails in grid square BS7147; BS7246; BS7245; give plans for this ASAP. Also ambushes from between 46 and 50 grid lines. At 0850hrs Delta Company 42 at grid BS733473 found one booby trap 60mm mortar round stuck in a large can; it was a trip wire type; will blow in place. At 1035hrs Battalion message to Delta Company change in ambush along line BS733467, BS728463, BS727455, BS718443, BS713438, BS713433 and BS718426 tomorrow search following grids foothills and trails BS7043, BS7144 and BS7245. At 1040hrs Delta Company 42 element closed on our Night Defense Position. At 1230hrs Delta Company RF and PF have linked up with our blocking force. The RF and PF and MACV people will return to MACV, Mission is terminated. At 1320hrs Delta Company 72 found and blew in place 2 rockets with pods from a shark at BS724490. At 1731hrs Delta Company is now moving to preplanned locations Night Defense Position at BS733452, 72 at BS727467, 73 at BS728462, 74 at BS727456 and 42 at BS723447. Delta Company also has 43 to BS727446, 32 at BS720441, 34 at BS713432 and 33 at BS714436. At 2047hrs Delta Company reports all elements are in their locations.
Echo Company
February 15, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0625hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Fires 6, Observed Mission 5 for a total expended 32 He and 11 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0915hrs Recon Robin Hood Day Logger gird BS747399, Little John BS745396, Will Scarlet BS749401 and snakes locations Robin Hood at BS746398, Little John at BS745395 and Will Scarlet at BS748400. At 0915hrs Recon Platoon found a trench about 800 meters long, 8’ high, 6’ wide warier at different points, it extends from grid BS747398 to BS745396, at grid BS745396 found sleeping position where 5 to 10 people slept last night also used as OP a tree there. At 1916hrs Recon Platoon reports Little John in their location at BS745395 and at 1930hrs Robin Hood and Will Scarlet in location at BS746398 and BS748400 respectively.
