Forward Area: (1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz) and ill continue to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0002hrs Radar sighting vicinity BS732393, Company size element is moving north. Fire Mission requested cleared by LT Lewis, target dispersed after Fire Mission. Blue Ghost Black sent to the target area, expended on the area and broke station with negative findings. Artillery then fire a 5 X 5 into the area at 0042hrs Blue Ghost Black went back into the area at 0042hrs to check it out with negative findings. At 0003hrs Blue Ghost Black on station, requested clearance for Box 59, cleared by LT Lewis, advised Black of radar sighting at BS732393, approximately Company size element. At 0110hrs Blue Ghost Black is breaking station, going to Duc Pho, Ghost back on station and heading for Box 59 at 0130hrs. At 0157hrs Blue Ghost 5 is breaking station Box 59 with negative results. At 0640hrs (1-20 Infantry TOC) reports Dolphin 7 on station for Combat Assault as AMC Ship. At 0840hrs Helix 34 is on station working for Alpha Company. At 0915hrs Brigade Area of Operation extension requests Date/Time/Grid 160700 to 21400 December 1970, gird BS700460 to BS710460 to BS710428 to BS700428 to start, negative clearance CPT Parker. At 1445hrs S-4 reports Dolphin 191 is on station for resupply. Legend: 1st Platoon 83-88, 2nd Platoon 33-38, 3rd Platoon 03-08, 4th Platoon 63-68 and CO 09.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0800hrs Alpha Company Command Post and 4th Platoon inserted into LZ BS683553, AMC ship spotted 2 personnel dressed in black evading to the West. At 1620hrs Alpha Company with the Command Post, 2nd Platoon and 4th Platoon located at BS6675552. At 1934 Alpha Company 1st Platoon linked up with Nghia Hahn Forces at BS680583, 3rd Platoon linked with Mo Duc Forces at BS686552. Alpha Company, 1st Platoon BS680572, ambush BS686575, BS680575, 3rd Platoon at BS691539, ambush BS692537, Command Post, 2nd and 4th Platoon BS687552, 2nd Platoon ambush BS685554 and BS684556.
Bravo Company

Charlie Company
December 15, 1970
At 1030hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS736392, searched the area of last night Artillery strike, found no signs of recent enemy activity (2 rabbits KBA). At 1315hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS767558, bought a M-72 Law in a ready to fire position. Paid 1 box of C-Rations to a 8 year old Vietnamese boy and destroyed it in place. At 1500hrs Charlie Company Command Post vicinity BS758395, bought 1 155mmArtillery round and 12 Artillery fuses from a Vietnamese male, 10 years old. The 155mm Artillery round was 6 months old and blown in place along with the fuses paid 2 meals of C Rations for the ordinance. At 0650hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS783372 found a Chinese 82mm round with no nose piece, blown in place. At 1853hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS735418 found a foxhole 4’ X 4’, also found 2 tunnels, 14X 4X 15, the opening 4’ wide and 3’ high unknown length will check them out and will destroy both tomorrow and continue their VIP program. At 1930hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon and 4th Platoon with Command Post is at BS759388, 3rd Platoon ambush at BS760400, BS757402 and BS753391, 2nd Platoon is at BS767373 with ambushes BS778367, 1st Platoon at BS730420 with ambush at BS738416.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued to use multiple patrols in their Area of Operation. At 1236hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS745575. At 1407hrs Delta Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS767557, 2nd Platoon patrol is at checkpoint 2 at BS771559. At 1753hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS752520. At 1918hrs Delta Company has moved into their Night Defense Position with Command Post, 1st and 4th Platoon BS755574, 2nd Platoon BS759555, 3rd Platoon BS774558.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
