Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Volunteer and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II. At 2230hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC At Minh Long Special Forces Camp 1 hand grenade was thrown into a Quonset hut in which 8 US personnel were sleeping with results 8 US WHA. Report 1 very serious, 1 serious, 3 minor, total of 7 evac and Dust Off completed at 2340hrs source of Hand Grenade is unknown at this time. Casualties 1 26 Engineer Thompson, 4 6 Support Wafer, Lefta, Lee, Richard, 3 Charlie 26 Engineer Villaneuva, Pila and Belwood with 7 WHA 2 where released none of the other 5 are on the critical list. At 2100hrs 11 Brigade reports Major Hayman report 1 piece of Engineer equipment that moved guns to Minh Long has broken down at BS667634 it will remaining there, guarded by 3 APC from E Troop 1 Cav and the remainder of the Task Force has closed at 1800hrs on Minh Long Special Forces Camp.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
December 15, 1968
At 0915hrs Alpha Company detained 2 VCS at BS660597 and BS660599 1 with negative ID and 1 with fake ID and then they where picked up by the Brigade Command and Control Helicopter and evac to LZ Bronco. At 1335hrs Alpha Company 51 and 51 are with APC at BS623585. To act as blocking fore, for the convoy with Artillery from LZ Snoopy to Special Forces Camp at Minh Long. At 1515hrs Alpha Company conduct a Combat Assault with LZ at 1637hrs from PZ BS617643 to BS488608. Alpha Company reports their Night Defense Position at BS486606.
Bravo Company

At 0930hrs Bravo Company is at BS448601. At 1400hrs Bravo Company is at BS439603 and set up their Night Defense Position at BS438600.as they continued to Search and Clear the area in their Area of Operation.
Charlie Company
December 15, 1968
At 0930hrs Charlie Company is located at BS485623, 21 BS485625 and 64 at BS480622. At 1045hrs Charlie Company report Artillery fire within 1,000 meters of their position. Quang Ngai is told of firing and requested it to stop and continued to conduct Search and Destroy Operations in the Area of Operation. At 1400hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS486625 and at 1640hrs reports location as their Night Defense Position at BS486606.
Delta Company

Captain Gerald D. Oleary assumed command of Delta Company. Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Cork.
Echo Company
December 15, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 0930hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS467611. At 1640hrs Recon Platoon reports their Night Defense Position at BS461625.
