Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0930hrs MACV Urgent Dust Off at BS731541 for 2 PF, 1 Ambulatory, 1 litter, multiple frag wounds to the body, and I has a sucking chest wound, completed at 0952hrs. At 0932hrs Delta Company 4-21 Infantry OPCON to 1-20 Infantry at BS673591 found 1 canister (smaller then a 105) filled with Petna, had a smoke fuse with a trip wire. The trip wire had been tripped previously it was located 5 to 10 meters off the trail, destroyed. At 1245hrs Delta Company 4-21 Infantry at BS678591, the 55 element found 1 new Chi Com grenade destroyed it in place. At 1300hrs 1-20 infantry Surge Operation started at 1300hrs, picked up Colonel Lynch in AMC Ship at BS676595. At 1410hrs 1-20 Infantry Combat Assault completed 1 PZ 1321hrs Bravo 54 LZ at BS758580, 2 PZ 1340hrs Bravo 34 LZ at BS758580, 3 PZ Bravo 84 -12 LZ at BS738572. At 1840hrs Brigade to Colonel Lynch from MAJ Brown effective DATE/TIME 151700 October 1970 1-20 Infantry is relieved of responsibility of engineers, and equipment, security of bridge, sight of bridge Tu Nghia, also old bridge 410. At 1930hrs 1-20 Infantry requested 2 Scout Dogs for Delta Company 4-21 Infantry to pick up from Scout Dog Platoon approved 0630hrs 15 October 1970. At 2215hrs Mo Duc 18 to (1-20 Infantry S-3), Operation discussed is a go. At 2300hrs Blue Ghost 49 is on station for the north half grid 62. At 2345hrs at BS760392 saw 1 hootch and 2 personnel wearing black, investigated and received about 15 rounds of AK fire, engaged and saw what appeared to be 2 bodies dressed in black, however because of the nature of target, it was difficult to tell, broke station at 2355hrs. Suggested putting 1 squad of Alpha Company 1-20 Infantry on the ground to check out the area however Blue Ghost had to break station. Legend 1st Platoon 03-08, 2nd Platoon 53-58, 3rd Platoon 83-88, 4th Platoon 63-68 and CO 43.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Also are at LZ Liz for refitting and retraining.
Bravo Company
October 14, 1969
Bravo Company 1st PZ 1321hrs and Last LZ at 1400hrs at BS738572. At 1340hrs Bravo Company 54 element LZ at BS756588, picked 1 military age male dressed in black, no ID sent to Military Intelligence. Bravo Company is location at 1945hrs Bravo Company Command Post at BS739576, the 54 element at BS735576, and the 84 element at BS740569.
Charlie Company

At 1237hrs Charlie Company detained 3 females vicinity BS680581 ages 58 to 70, no ID, after interrogation by their Kit Carson Scout they stated that 4 VC passed through the area yesterday, all carried AK-47, all detainees where released.
Delta Company
October 14, 1969
At 0722hrs Delta Company requests Urgent Dust Off at BS679594, for 1 US who was bitten by unknown source, completed 0742hrs. At 1910hrs Delta Company is moving out for BS678592. At end of the day Delta Company reports their location Night Defense Position BS678595, 54 BS680587 and 84 BS672594.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry on LZ Liz.
