Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0825hrs Bravo Company reports the night before last (13 October 69) my 27 element reports the little people got drunk and one of them pulled a knife on a US personnel. No one was hurt but thought it should be reported. The ARVN Command was notified and corrected action was brought against the man who pulled the knife. Helix 37 FAC is putting in Air Strike at BS717471. Command and Control Helicopter at grid BS828445 the PRU spot a man who was evading. They say he is defiantly VC. He is unarmed and has no equipment taking him to Bronco.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. PFC Conrad McCarthy was attached to 91st Evac Hospital.
Alpha Company

At 1510hrs Alpha Company at grid BS785525 we have two males VCS, approximately 25 to 35 years old, we found them in a tree observing our movement. They were question by interpreter and say they where 35 VC are. Our interpreter questioned them and the younger one is supposed to be a member of the Farmers Association for his hamlet and has been employed by the VC as rice carrier. At 1835hrs Alpha Company at grid BS785535 we have two 105 rounds which landed at our location (1818hrs), one went off 200 meters outside our perimeter and the other was a dud which landed near our OP.
Bravo Company

At 0712hrs Bravo Company our 55 element and Vietnamese will move to grid BS778423 to cut bamboo poles for refugee hootches. At 0825hrs Bravo Company reports the little people got drunk and one of them pulled a knife on one US personnel, No one was hurt but thought it should be reported. At 1005hrs Bravo Company at BS777424 ARVN stepped on his own personnel mine with results 1 ARVN Non Battle Casualty Dust Off completed at 1015hrs. Bravo Company used Day Logger with RF elements in their saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. Bravo Company at grid BS789417 we need an Urgent Dust Off for 1 female Vietnamese (ARVN Wife). She stepped on a booby trap at the ARVN Compound. One foot was blown off and other partially amputated. Delta Ambush 56 snake is at grid BS791411.

Delta Company is located at Chu Lai for their Stand Down.
Echo Company
October 14, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At Recon Platoon conducts a Combat Assault with PRU 1st PZ 1450hrs and last LZ 1525hrs. At 1811hrs Recon and PRU at gird BS829444 we have picked up one VCS male, age 20 years, no ID and evac to LZ Bronco.
