Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0430hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC Radar Targets at 2135hrs sighted 15 to 20 stationary personnel at BS790465 and engaged them with 12 HE of Artillery 155mm. At 0750hrs Flame track reports we found 1 8" round buried nose down and covered with plastic. It looks as though it was set up for a track to run over it at grid BS837426 and we blew it in place. At 0910hrs Flame track reports our new position and Day Logger is at BS834437. At 1400hrs TMF String 75 target B sighted 5 personnel are moving southwest to northeast with metal detected. They were moving at 4 miles per hour at grid BS790367. Negative clearance and when clearance was given the target was no longer registering. At 1510hrs E Troop the Flame tracks are moving to BS825440. At 1700hrs Brigade the Black Aces Artillery Plane observed approximately 50 new fighting positions and 3 individuals dressed in green and 1 with a weapon at grid BS7851 this afternoon. At 1755hrs E Troop we are in our Night Defense Position at BS832442. At 1855hrs E Troop 3 acres were cleared today from BS720438 to BS830438. At 2155hrs MACV Duc Pho the VC are supposed to mortar grid BS755420. At 2305hrs Radar sighted 10 to 15 stationary personnel at BS781412 with Bravo Company informed.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Bravo Company

At 0600hrs Bravo Company 59 element is moving out on their patrol to BS768448. Bravo will continue to use multiple patrolling and multiple sweeps in their Area of Operation with results of 3 VC and 9 Vietnamese detainees and turned into Duc Pho for questioning.
Charlie Company

At 0445hrs Charlie Company the 34 element is moving to sweep grid at BS772394. Charlie Company continued to use Day Loggers and saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0646hrs Charlie Company Command Post is in their Day Logger at BS779376. At 0646hrs Charlie Company 58 element had a mechanical ambush go off sometime last night. They did not hear it and are checking area of BS777367 with negative finding. At 0650hrs Charlie Company the 76 element has closed on E Troop. The 56 element is staying out and 74-54 element is sweeping continue on saturation sweeping of their Area of Operation. At 0800hrs Charlie Company moved into their Day Logger at BS776387 and reports all elements are moving to their locations and the Command Post is moving into their Night Defense Position is at BS767387and found a 155mm round dud and blew it in place. At 2015hrs Charlie Company we are in our Night Defense Position at BS777386 with multiply ambushes. By 2135hrs Charlie Company reports elements with multiple ambushes have closed.
Delta Company

At 0711hrs Delta Company the 76 element is at their snake location and with the 74 elements sweeping to the 76 element. The 56 snake is in location with the 54 element sweeping to them. The 36 element has closed on the Command Post, the 34 element is moving out of their patrol to BS7344 and the Company Night Defense Position will be same as Night Defense Position. At 0814hrs Delta Company the 74 element linked up with the 75 element, the 34 element is still on the sweep and the 54 element is on their patrol. At 0832hrs Delta Company the 34 element will sweep BS732448, BS739449, and BS735443, we have 1 Vietnamese child who turned in the head of a 122 rocket. The head was in good condition, the child was paid 1050 dollars MPC at grid BS754452. At 1015hrs Delta Company the 34 element is checking grids BS735443 and the 54 and 74 patrols still have negative results. At 1515hrs Delta Company the 77 element with SSG Hoa (Flower) found a 1200 pounds cache of unpolished rice buried 3 feet in the grounds. The rice was covered with a US poncho. About 150 meters from the location we found two PRC 25 batteries and destroyed them. We found an old well with footprints leading down the well. The 77 element threw in a hand frag and got a secondary explosion the size of a blasting cap. The rice was evac to Mo Duc by the Vietnamese and the well was destroyed. Duc Pho and the 11 Brigade Infantry Mo Duc Security Chief provided the Intelligence for this 1-20 Infantry Operation. At 1920hrs Delta Company the Command Post is moving to the Night Defense Position.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 4.2 Platoon reports Fires Missions 5 for a total expended of 10 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0705hrs Recon our Day Logger is at BS812468, the 53 element is in the Day Logger and the 54 and 55 elements are closing on the Day Logger. At 0726hrs Recon the 54 and 55 elements have closed on the 53 location at BS812468 and the 54 element brought in some old paperwork and documents to be extracted as soon as possible. At 0820hrs Recon a few meters from the Day Logger we found a well camouflaged sleeping position and 4 Napalm rockets off a helicopter (lot # XM325) and we will destroy them at grid BS812468. At 1650hrs Recon Platoon the 55 element found 1 bunker, 12’ by 4’ with 4 sleeping positions each 4’ by 4’. There were 3 holes, 1 ½’ in diameter and 5’ in depth. The holes looked like they had contained rice. The bunker was blown at grid BS804475. At Recon the 53 element is at BS784467, the 54 element is at BS788472 and the 56 element is at BS781479.
