Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0100hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon while in their Night Defense Position heard movement 75 to 100 meters to their southwest vicinity BS728443, engaged area with small arms fire and immediately swept area resulting in 6 pigs KIA. At 0735hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 3 broke station at this time. At 0810hrs Warlord 5 is into APD 293 box. At 0810hrs 4 ARVN Recon on 140300hrs vicinity BS860343 while on ambush killed 3 VC, CIA 2 rucksacks, 5 hand grenades US type and 1 medical bag. At 0900hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 3 is on station at this time. At 0915hrs LZ Liz Access Road reports is open at this time. At 1000hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 3 has broken station at this time. At 1428hrs MACV Mo Duc, vicinity BS782508, E Troop 23 Calvary Task Force and PF Platoon 148, 140 working on intelligence from POW captured by RF 103 Battalion, while leading them to a small arms cache. POW hit a booby trap resulting in 1 POW KIA, 1 PF WIA, also found were 2 M-60’s, 1 SKS, 1 M-60 barrel, 1 M-16 magazines, 1 carbine, confirmed by US. At 2017hrs Warlord Black is on station for Nighthawk Box 63, at 2115hrs out of Box 63 with negative findings. At 2145hrs Warlord Black on station for Box 62, at 2225hrs out of box with negative findings. Legend: 1st Platoon 81, 2nd Platoon 83, 3rd Platoon 59, 4th Platoon 88, CO-50.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company

At 0100hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon while in their Night Defense Position heard movement 75-100 meters to their southwest and immediately swept area resulting in 6 pigs KIA. At 0505hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon heard Mechanical Ambush detonate at grid BS718427, fired Artillery HE, sweep area with negative findings will check again at first light. At 0700hrs items CIA in contact last night 1 US gal salad oil can, 4 NVA ponchos, 1 GI sandbag with 20 bags empty, 3 small place mats, 10 foot poles, 6 ARVN bush hats. Also found 1 brown bottle (kerosene empty), documents, a seal and stamp, 1 AK 47, 1 empty AK magazine, 30 expended AK rounds, 1 rice carrying waist band and sandals. At 0728hrs Alpha Company vicinity BS719431, 1 Vietnamese male 15 years old was brought to Command Post with frag wounds to left leg, Dust Off by Primo 3 to Quang Ngai. At 1124hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon patrol found a dressing and bundle of sticks, dressing used last night vicinity of finding BS718447. At 2007hrs Alpha company Night Defense Position locations 1st Platoon at BS720444 and Command Post and 2nd Platoon at BS728423.
Bravo Company

At 0800hrs Bravo and Charlie Companies conduct a Combat Assault at 0800hrs first PZ at 0800hrs and last LZ was at 0908hrs Bravo Company head to Chu Lai for their Stand Down.
Charlie Company
July 14, 1971
Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0800hrs Charlie and Bravo Companies conduct at Combat Assault 1st PZ 0800hrs and last LZ at 0908hrs and at 0942hrs Charlie Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon established their Patrol Base at BS670510. At 0955hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving to vicinity BS665525. At 1958hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon and Command Post in Night Defense Position at BS660517.
Delta Company

Delta Company returned from Chu Lai and take over the Security Mission for LZ Liz and a Security Mission for the Access Road.
Echo Company
July 14, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
