Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1255hrs Delta Company 19th Engineers called Dust Off, for 1 US accidentally shot, requests Military Police be at Doctor Control to meet chopper, man died. At 1500hrs Late Entry Charlie Company 19 Engineer and 1-20 Infantry TOC a group of US troops, between 20-30, beat up some Vietnamese nationals, and stole 6500 P’s and 5 watches. The Military Police are investigating at this time, time of action 1300hrs. At 1555hrs Bravo Company 19 Engineer has a 290 bobtail earth mover, with out the pan stuck on the access road. They think the engine is frozen, need a truck mounted crane with a four part lifting block to get it out. Tractor of the earth mover weight 26 tons. They had to leave it out there last night and would like to get it inside LZ Liz tonight. At 1615hrs MACV PF will have road clearing operation plan on 15 July 1968 from 0800hrs to 1500hrs. Start at BS794409, move north on Highway 1 to BS782434 and return to bridge 115 by 1500hrs. At 1855hrs MACV PF on bridge 104 observed what they believe to be VC platoon at BS885277, PF want to move into area, 1-20 Infantry give approved them going to location.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1115hrs 6 Support reports a Hook leaving Northeast pad on a heading of 005-500 meters out of perimeter dropped 5 boxes of (7.62 machine gun), in front of bunkers 56, 57, and 57 Ammo was recovered at 1150hrs. The 1-20 Infantry sent troops out to check and recover the Ammo and Primo sent chopper to help locate it.
Alpha Company

At 1153hrs Alpha Company is located at LZ BS807357. At 1805hrs Alpha Company 13 and Command Post is at their Night Defense Position at BS786394 with ambush sites at BS784385, BS792403, BS785401, BS778394 and Alpha 20 is at LZ Bronco.
Bravo Company

Charlie Company
July 14, 1968
At 1153hrs Charlie Company is located at BS893317. Charlie Company conducts a Combat Assault 1st Lift TD 1803hrs cold and 2Lift TD and 3rd Lift completed Combat Assault at 1821hrs. At 1855hrs Charlie Company is located at BS836315 and at 2137hrs Charlie Company closed in their Night Defense Position at BS864307 with ambushes at BS867306, BS862302, and BS854307.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. At 1805hrs Delta Company 10 and Command Post Charlie Brown, 11 at Bridge 94 and 20 & 30 at BS914243.
Echo Company
July 14, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 1000hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS463467. At 1155hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS463473. At 1200hrs Recon Platoon ambush observed 5 Vietnamese with packs unarmed moving ambush back, moving larger ambush 400 meters to north to try a snatch. At 1638hrs Recon Platoon at BS463470 spotted a hootch and because of terrain could not get to it. Recon started descending to the east of down a finger and then headed west when 1 VC dressed green fatigues was seen, had no weapon or pack but he did have a transistor radio. When he spotted Recon he started running toward hootch. Recon fired upon and killed the VC. Recon Platoon spotted 6 or 7 people in hootch. 2 of them appeared to be women. Because Recon gave away position will move to higher ground. Recon Platoon 6 interpreter says that the #1 man in charge of the people in the hootch was talking in North Vietnamese about sending the people out to set up ambushes in the creek beds and trails. At 1854hrs Recon reports over night position at BS463466.
