Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. 1-20 Infantry on the 13 January 1969 has taken control of North and South Duc Pho Area of Operation. At 0825hrs 1-20 Infantry inserted LRRP Faker (Idaho) into BS643538. At 1008hrs Helix 33 BS770515 Structures enemy location 1 structure destroy and 2 structure damage, 2 spider, holes uncovered. At 1010hrs 1-20 Infantry LRRP at BS625545 observed 1 male in khakis, I female whit top, 6-8 males, black PJ and 1 weapon. At 1106hrs 1-20 Infantry LRRP at BS605525 observed 7 VC, 6 with khaki, 1 black PJ and all with packs and weapons, at BS605525 4 VC 2 khaki, 2 back PJ all have weapons and packs. At BS625550 observed 2 VC 1 black PJ, 1 khaki heavy load chogie sticks. At 1235hrs LRRP Idaho reports their location BS640534. At 1425hrs Helix 32 at BS623554 observed 12 VC going on trail, Air Strike at 1400hrs 8 good one, 2 duds and 20mm, destroyed 6 strictures and 5 KBA, not confirmed. At 1455hrs LRRP Faken is located at BS640534. At 1445hrs 1-20 Infantry observe 50 VCS females in a group sent Helix or Air Strike as second mission. At 1515hrs at BS804447 2 VCS CIA female, BS624545 fresh tunnels and fighting position destroy 10 strictures, BS623556 fresh tunnels fighting positions BS626554 with 2 VCS CIA all CIA taken to LZ Liz. At 1545hrs 1-20 Infantry LRRP Idaho BS624557, 4 VC in open called Artillery result is 1 VC KBA (Artillery). At 1645hrs Alpha Company at BS710529 CIA 2 VCS, 1 old man with child with 4 negative ID, 1 male 19 years old with ID. At 1645hrs 1-20 Infantry LRRP Idaho at BS606527 spotted 7 VC wearing khaki, going from river to huts. At 1910hrs 1-20 Infantry LRRP at BS615526 spotted 2 VC black PJ packs and weapon south to northwest BS618533.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company has the Security Mission for LZ Dragon. At 0900hrs Alpha Company at BS745544 detained 5 VC suspects for questioning, and turned over to MACV Mo Duc for questioning. At 1646hrs Alpha Company at BS710579 detained 2 more VC suspects for questioning and evac to LZ Bronco.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0940hrs Bravo Company at 750439 observed 2 VC in Black pajamas with negative results.
Charlie Company
January 14, 1969
Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1700hrs Charlie Company at BS845285 detained 2 VC suspects for questioning and evac to LZ Bronco.
Delta Company
January 14, 1969
Delta Company has the Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and the Bridges in their Area of Operation. At 0830hrs Delta Co is at BS923262. At 0905hrs Delta Company 19th Engineer Mine sweep element from Delta Company received heavy sniper fire from the vicinity of BS893269 as they moved along the road south towards Charlie Brown. Sniper fire came from the western side of the road Gun Ships are on stations.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued the SRRP operations in their Area of Operation with light enemy activities. At 1900hrs Recon located at BS757403 SRRP observed at BS724442 20 VC in open. PFC Thomas B Stewart was evac to 23rd Medical Battalion at 1430hrs (11B10).
