Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0922hrs M boats at BS833437, the salvage boat is out in calm water standing by because of the tide. The two M boat and dossier are still on the Beach. At 0930hrs All Battalions frag order November 7, 1969: effective 1200hrs 14 December 1969, (1-20 Infantry) SGT Rosser, 4-3 Infantry CPT Hurly, 4-21 Infantry SGT Dare, 3-1 SGT Hunter, and FTOC SSGT Espisito. At 0815hrs Charlie Company 26th Engineer at BS7584889 found security element from MS North had contact with VC. MS TEAM observed approximate 15 moving across rice paddies to the east. The PF security element moved east and received small arms fire. Sharks on station, sharks spotted two Vietnamese and held them for the MS team. Further check of the area found one tunnel being checked at this time. Negative results, negative casualties or damage during the ambush The Vietnamese were innocent civilians.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 1620hrs 1-20 Infantry a convoy truck turned over with water billets on it, the driver is OK. At 1700hrs the Access Road is closed.
Alpha Company
December 14, 1969
Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0835hrs Alpha Company the 24 and 15 snakes have closed on LZ Liz. At 1850hrs Alpha Company our snakes and SRRP are moving out 35shake if moving to BS777441, the 24 snake is moving to BS768439, the 15 snake is moving to BS772440 and 75 SRRP is moving to BS755412 all in place by 1928hrs. At 2328hrs Alpha Company sends out a patrol to investigate the movement by Bunker 20, they report negative finding and returned to their bunkers and will check again at first light.
Bravo Company
December 14, 1969
At 0655hrs Bravo Company the Gorilla and PF will have a Bamboo and cane cutting mission at BS776430. At 0700hrs Bravo Company the 15 element, patrol is moving out and the 75 element has closed on BS783433 also at 0715hrs the 16 element, patrol is moving out. At 0755hrs the Rangers have closed on the 33 location (blocking force). At 0925hrs The Bravo 15 is at checkpoint 4 BS777427, the 16 is heading for Checkpoint 4 and the Gorilla got mixed up on their grid and are now heading for the right grid at BS776430. At 0935hrs Bravo 15 is now at checkpoint 5 at BS786466. At 1035hrs Bravo Company 33 element has closed on the Twin Ville at BS776446. At 1326hrs Bravo Company Urgent Dust Off request: one Vietnamese civilian female with gunshot wound to the right side and a collapsed lung. Brigade called at 1330hrs to get Dolphin 69 to make the Dust Off. It is unknown how she received these wounds; Dust Off is completed at 1350hrs. Bravo Company 76 element is moving out to BS779419 with 5 PF on their patrol. At 1736hrs Bravo Company change in Gorilla plans location for their snake at BS782438. At 1810hrs Gorilla element is moving out at this time BS782438. At 1837hrs the gorilla element is in location at BS782438 and the 35 element is moving out to grid BS772451.
Charlie Company
December 14, 1969
At 0955hrs Charlie Company is located at BS833437. At 1110hrs Charlie Company at BS833437, M Boat status one on the beach with 2 of 4 screw working and should be able to make it under its own power. The other is completely in operative and must be towed. Therefore they need another M Boat to carry Bulldozer till on the beach. Salvage ship, which is supposed to be on station, is not at this time. At 1600hrs Charlie Company is at Chu Lai getting ready for their Stand Down.
Delta Company

At 0700hrs Delta Company reported all my snakes have closed on grid BS704450. At 1145hrs Delta Company reports we are moving at this time. At 1630hrs Delta Company reports our Night Defense position is at BS733447 and the 32 element now at BS733453. Delta Company plans for tomorrow is set up ambush sites in the area of BS765388 to BS778393 and Night Defense Position at vicinity BS775387. At 1845hrs Delta Company 32 element is at BS739457 and the 12 element is at BS730464. The 74 element is moving to BS724467 and the 34 element is moving to BS726461.
Echo Company
December 14, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0615hrs 4.2 Platoon reports total expended 59 HE and 10 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon is still in Chu Lai finishing their Stand down. At 0930hrs Recon PZ Chu Lai and 1st LZ BS833437 (32 men) and Recon Platoon is located at BS833437 to replace Charlie Company at M Boat location. At 1845hrs Recon Platoon we would like to Recon Platoon resupply as soon as possible because the men are low on supplies.
