Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Siberia and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0720hrs S-4 Resupply Bird is on station Rattler 28. At 1455hrs 1-20 Infantry Slow Motion 4 broke station. At 1530hrs Resupply Bird is on station. At 1900hrs LATE SPOT Time of event 1530hrs Charlie Company LZ West request a priority Dust Off for 1 US who was burning trash there was a M-16 round in the fire which the Individual was walking away the round went off. It wounded the man in the waist he was 5’ away from the fire, Dust Off completed by Artillery Resupply Bird at 1610hrs. At 1915hrs 1-20 Infantry Air Calvary team found at grid AT866242, found 3 hootches NVA uniforms around the hootch, destroyed 2 hootches and damage 1.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
September 13, 1971
At 0805hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon is moving out to AT885264 and 2nd Platoon moving to AT880270. At 1045hrs 2nd Platoon closed at AT881269 with the 1st Platoon at 1100hrs closing at AT887264. At 1800hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon and Command Post closed on their Night Defense Position at AT877264. At 1930hrs Alpha Company closed in their Night Defense Position at AT839259 with 2 Mechanical Ambushes out tonight.
Bravo Company

At 0830hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon has moved out to AT935286 and at 0845hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon has moved out to AT928285. At 1630hrs Bravo Company at AT935285 observed 7 VC with packs and weapons moving northeast at AT935287 engaged with small arms fire along the trail, Bravo Company pursued and Gun Ships were requested and were on station with 7 minutes Gun Ships engaged the trail at AT934285. Bravo Company swept through the area, they found a pair of sandals, a rice knife and 1 sandbag containing pots and pans. Also found 1 Tunnel 4’ X 3’ X 6’ which had been recently occupied. Saber 71 engaged a trail at grid AT933284. Bravo Company searched that area with negative findings Bravo Company broke off the search at 1835hrs, the VC are believed to be evading to the south. At 1853hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon is moving to AT932286. At 1900hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon is moving to AT932286 and closed on Night Defense Position at 1930hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon Night Defense Position is at AT926284 and Bravo Company has 4 Mechanical Ambushes out.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ West. At 1900hrs LATE SPOT Time of event 1530hrs Charlie Company LZ West request a priority Dust Off for 1 US who was burning trash there was a M-16 round in the fire which the Individual was walking away the round went off. Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Siberia and will conduct a few combat sweeps in and around LZ Siberia.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Siberia, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
