Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0130hrs 1-20 Infantry Major Honjiyo has an element securing downed choppers at BS663587. At 0720hrs Warlords 23 and 39 at LZ Liz for briefing, 0725hrs departed LZ Liz. At 0725hrs Dolphin 27 is on station, carried resupply to Bravo and Delta Company, picked up 2 KIA, Primo on station for 2 hours as Command and Control time. At 0720hrs Warlord 23 and 39 is on station. At 0725hrs Dolphin 27 on station for emergency resupply. At 0726hrs Primo 02 the Command and Control Helicopter is on station. At 0800hrs S-5 on 12 October 1970 spent 1730hrs Piasters to 10 Vietnamese boys ages 10 to 14, for 8 60mm rounds, 3 booby traps, cans of Petna filled, trip wire, 2 M-26 hand frag, 3 20mm HE rounds, 4 M-79 rounds and 1 4.2 round all destroyed in place. At 0850hrs Helix 30 is putting in Air Strike at BS675593. At 1120hrs to 1-20 Infantry from CPT Parker reports 1. Company 4-4 ARVN Combat Assault to BS655589, 1 Company 4-4 ARVN Reserve force, Warlords mobile block vicinity BS672592, Delta Company 4-21 Infantry en route by truck, Combat Assault in position vicinity BS663594, as soon as 4-21 inserted, Jump Command Post will move to take command of Task Force. At 1603hrs Delta Company 4-21 infantry Combat Assault is completed. At 1610hrs S-3 1-20 infantry ordered 200 DA Pamphlets 350-12, guide for squad leaders from S-1. At 1630hrs Colonel Lynch requests enough Demolitions, to blow 4 bunker and 20 fighting positions. At 1743hrs 1-20 Infantry all downed ships have been extracted at this time. At 1740hrs Bravo Company at BS665594 requests a chopper to pick up 2 KIA pick up completed at 1905hrs. At 2300hrs Brigade Colonel Lynch and CPT Parker on 140815hrs October 1970 Brigade Commander will be dropping 2 UPI correspondents and 1 PIO man at the forward Command Post for a briefing and run down on the action that took place on the 12. These correspondents will probably spend 1 night in the field. At 2340hrs Brigade Area of Operation extension request for 4 ARVN Regiment Recon Date/Time/Grid 141200hrs to 171800hrs October 1970 from BS760500 to BS777460 strip along coast, approved by CPT Parker. Legend: 1st Platoon 54-59, 2nd Platoon 84-89, 3rd Platoon 34-39, 4th Platoon 04-09 and CO 12.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.

Powers, Clifford Wright, Richard Hunt, extracted, Delong still on battlefield area. Combat loss: 1 M-60, 2 M-203, 2 M-79, 2 M-16, 1 PRC 25, 1 speaker box, 11 Rush Sacks, 1 PRC 77, 1 SOI. At 1024 the Combat Assault of Delta 34 into BS680600. At 1120hrs the 1-20 Infantry report by CPT. Parker, 1 Company 4-4 ARVN will Combat Assault into BS655589, 1 Company 4-4 ARVN Reserved Force, War Lords Mobil block vicinity BS672592 and Delta Company 4-21 Infantry en route by truck and will be Combat Assaults into BS663594. At 1322hrs Delta Company at BS675592 found 1 US KIA Bravo Company Delong, and at 1555hrs found the following items 4 RPG rounds, 2 NVA rucksacks, 1 M-16, 1 M203, 1 M-60 machinegun, 1 PRC 25 radio, 1 PRC 77 radio, 1 speaker box destroyed. Also found 6 rucksacks 2 destroyed, 1 SOI destroyed, 15 M-16 magazines, 1 NVA helmet, 1 entrenching tool, 1 Chi Com mine also destroyed a bunker complex at BS676591. At 1603hrs Delta Company 4-21 Infantry Combat Assault completed. At 1743hrs all down ships have been extracted at this time. Bravo Company at BS665594 requests a chopper to extract 2 KIA pick up completed at 1905hrs. SP4 Bernard Flythe was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital morning report.
Charlie Company

At 0840hrs Charlie Company reports at 1730hrs 11 October Edward P. Philrpkisty lost a M-203 and 1 M-79 vest resulting from serious injury on 11 October 1970. 1LT Thomas Lewis lost .45 pistol resulting from action same day in location BS675591. At 1952hrs Charlie Company at BS670604, requests Dust Off for 4 US who were injured in contact yesterday, McClafferty, Leopold, Sarabia, and the 54 element Medic. PFC Richard Miller (Headquarters Company) was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital completed at 1952hrs.
Delta Company

At 0905hrs Delta Company in location at BS671588. At 1024hrs completed Combat Assault of Delta 34 into BS680600. At 1312hrs Delta Company element moving out on sweep at 1322hrs Delta at BS675572 while on their sweep found 1 M-203, 5 Rucksacks, 1 M-16, 1 Chi Com grenade and found the missing KHA Delong. At 1555hrs Delta Company continued to conduct sweep the contact area and found the following items: 4 RPG rounds, 2 NVA rucksacks, 1 M-16 Rifle, 1 M-203, 1 (M-60) machine gun and 1 PRC 25 radio. Also Delta Company in sweeping the contact area 1 PRC 77 radio, 1 speaker box, destroyed 6 US rucksacks, (2 destroyed), 1 SOI destroyed, 15 M-16 magazines, 1 NVA helmet, 1 entrenching tool, 1 Chi Com mine, also destroyed a bunker complex at BS676591. At 1610hrs 1-20 Infantry reported all downed ships have been extracted at this time. 2010hrs Delta Company reports locations as follows 34 element at BS678592, the 54 element at BS681594 and the 95 element at BS677599. PVT Alfred Lewis was evac to 91st evac Hospital (sick).
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry.
