Headquarters and Headquarter Company
October 13, 1968
Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Dottie and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. The Battalion is moved from the field to LZ Uptight where they are moved by CH 47 to LZ Dottie and LZ Buff with the end of Operation Logan Field.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
October 13, 1968
Alpha Company the move to LZ Dottie was started at 0700hrs. The Battalion assumed the responsibility of the South Chu Lai Area of Operation at 131300hrs October 1968. One of the recommendations in the After Report was an Operation into the Batangan Cape should consist of fast, hard hitting raid operation. The more time spent on the ground by friendly elements, the more susceptible they become to enemy mines and booby traps.
Bravo Company
October 13, 1968
The Bravo Company move to LZ Dottie was started at 0700hrs. Extracted by UH-1 to LZ Uptight from which they were then lifted by CH-47 to LZ Dottie or Buff, The move completed at 1250hrs, the Battalion assumed the responsibility of the S Chu Lai Area of Operation at 131300hrs, October 1968. Bravo Company at 1600hrs has moved into LZ Buff and taken over the Security Mission for the LZ.
Charlie Company
October 13, 1968
Charlie Company picked up at PZ 1028hrs and LZ was LZ Buff completed at 1039hrs and took over the Security Mission for LZ Buff.
Delta Company
October 13, 1968
The 1st Battalion 20th Infantry moved at 0700hrs to LZ Dottie and Buff, the move was completed at 1250hrs.And the Battalion assumed the responsibility of the SOUTH CHU LAI AO at 131300hrs Oct 1968. Battalion Recommendations any operation into the Batangan Cape should consist of fast, hard hitting raid type operations. Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Dottie where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Dottie. The 4.2 Platoon is again located on LZ Dottie where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon is air moved to LZ Dottie where they take over their Security Mission for LZ Dottie.
