Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0741hrs LZ Liz Access Road is now clear. At 0915hrs Warlord is at APD Box 292 at this time and breaks out at 0952hrs. At 1132hrs 1-20 Infantry Warlord 3 is in Box 61. At 1245hrs 4-4 ARVN vicinity BS604470, while on Sweep and Clear Operation made contact with unknown size enemy force resulting in 5 VC KIA, CIA 1 AK47, 5 rucksacks, 600 kilos of rice and 500 kilos of corn, time of event 130650hrs. At 1555hrs 1-20 Infantry Primo 3 is on station at this time. At 1830hrs 4-4 ARVN on 131730hrs vicinity BS600469 while on Search and Clear Operation made contact with unknown size enemy force resulting in 16 NVA KIA, 2 AK47 CIA and 2 ARVN slightly wounded. At 1915hrs Charlie Company Area of Operation cleared: BS6454 to BS6651 to BS6853 to BS6953 to BS6950 to BS6650 to BS6651 to BS6551 to BS6552 to BS6452 to start ASAP to 26 July 1971 4 ARVN (CAN), Mo Duc (WW), 3-1 Infantry (SM), Nghia Hanh (PQS) and Brigade (RKC). At 2007hrs Warlord Black into Box 62, at 2033hrs divert to contact area, at 2105hrs going to Quang Ngai to refuel. At 2145hrs 1-20 Infantry Warlord Black is on station for Box 63 and breaks station at 2145hrs with negative findings. Legend: 1st Platoon 81, 2nd Platoon 83, 3rd Platoon 59, 4th Platoon 88, CO-50.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
July 13, 1971
Alpha Company will continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2015hrs all elements in their Night Defense Position 2nd Platoon and Command Post at BS728445, 1st Platoon ambush at BS714428, 1st Platoon at BS728445 with 1st Platoon ambush at BS735450. At 2028hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon while in Night Defense Position vicinity BS728445 had a trip flare ignite, they immediately engage the area with small arms fire resulting in 1 NVA KIA. The VC/ NVA about 20 meters from Night Defense Position wearing green on green, CIA AK47, documents, 4 to 5 more with packs and weapons evaded to the northwest. At 2033hrs Warlord Black diverted to contact area, swept area at 2045hrs with negative finding and will sweep again at 1st light, request Bird in morning for re supply.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued will continue to use Patrol bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2030hrs Bravo Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon is in their Night Defense Position at BS667524 and 1st Platoon Night Defense Position is at BS670512.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz and a Security Mission for the Access Road.
Delta Company

Delta Company is at Chu Lai for their Stand Down.
Echo Company
July 13, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0800hrs Recon has linked up with Bravo Company at this time and closed on LZ Liz.
