Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0955hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer reports at 0830hrs at BS838338, Vehicle D23 5 ton dump was hit by claymore mine just north of My Trang Hamlet. Mine was placed in hedgerow parallel to ditch on west side of road with results 1 EM WIA in shoulder Driven to BS8414 and taken to Duc Pho. At 1925hrs 1-20 TOC, Bridge 104 called a Dust Off for 1 PF who stepped on a booby trap, his own and blew his foot off. At 2010hrs MACV agent reports 11 VC reported to be at BS801387 or BS795385, scrambled flare ships to illuminate area, 2 Gun ships on ground standing by for rapid employment. Fare Ships and Gun Ships on MACV frequency. At 1-20 Infantry TOC Intelligence report from 52 Military Intelligence. Mr Dunken stating that an Intelligence source (Montanyard LT at Sa Huynh) reports that at BS891511 center of mass 2 Battalion Main force. Also at BS881227 center of mass 1 Battalion Main Force, at BS894244 2 Main Force Platoons, they will hit Sa Huynh and Bridge 94-95 at 0200hrs on 14 July 1968. At 2135hrs Division TOC Charlie Company of 5th Special Forces has 1 PW returnee at Minh Long who is willing to lead US element to POW camp which has 100 PW and 2 of which are US personnel. Division will provide Air Strikes 6 Gun Ships and 6 Slicks to 11th brigade for conduct of mission. Mission was given to Charlie Company 5th Special Forces.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0058hrs Sector "B" bunkers 16&17 reported 2 flashes and man in gate. Report 2 explosions 300-400 meters to the front by PF bunker. Put bunkers on condition yellow, return fired mortars on suspected location of mortar tube. At 0115hrs Late Entry at 0058hrs LZ Bronco TOC and MACV perimeter reported 2 each suspected incoming mortar rounds, impact vicinity 806383 and fired artillery at 775352. Bronco defense placed on yellow alert, negative casualties and negative damage also return fired Mortars at BS805381 and BS804307. At 0120hrs LZ Bronco dispatched 2 APC (E-Troop) to Duc Pho gate to pick up Vietnamese wounded by mortar fire. APC will transport WIA to hospital. Results 14 walking wounded, 11 of which were evac to A and D, Two serious. At 0155hrs LZ Bronco has return to Green Alert Status.

Bravo Company (-) has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder.
Charlie Company

At 1000hrs Charlie Company is located at BS909289. At 1800hrs Charlie Company is in their Night Defense Position at BS910295.
Delta Company
July 13, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and at 1000hrs Delta Company BS918254 and at 1030hrs at BS 919253 found 11 55 gal drums of unpolished rice, was found in 2 hooch’s will bag and evacuate to LZ Bronco, estimate weight 5000 pounds. At 1800hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS91265. At 1926hrs Delta Company has element in over night position at BS931257. SP4 Frank Tartarelli sick and at 0900hrs to 27th Evac Hospital and was attached.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0810hrs Recon Platoon will go west approximately 100 meters and set up OP and observe today, Will send one element down finger to southeast with CIA documents and weapon and 1 WHA for chopper pick up. At 0815hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS477476. At 0830hrs Delta Company 19th Engineers at BS838338, a vehicle D23, a 5 ton dump truck was hit by claymore mine just north of My Trang hamlet. Mine was placed in hedgerow parallel to ditch on western side of the road. I EM wounded in shoulder, EM drove to BS8414, then taken to Duc Pho.
