Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0550hrs TMF String 61 B spotted stationary target, metal confirmed engaged with 16 VT HE Artillery 105mm. At 0807hrs S-4 Dolphin 516 is on station for re supply. At 0922hrs 26 Engineers reports Access road is open. At 1430hrs Primo 4 is on station for the Command and Control Helicopter. At 1525hrs TMF at 1515hrs Sting 312 target 3 spotted 2 to 3 personnel that where moving southeast to northwest at 3 miles per hour and engaged at 1518hrs with 10 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 1610hrs S-4 Dolphin 458 is on station for re supply. At 1645hrs TMF at 1602hrs String 312 B metal confirmed and stationary target and engaged at 1604hrs with 8 rounds VT Artillery 105mm. At 2210hrs TMF at 2155hrs Sting 61B spotted stationary target with metal confirmed and engaged at 2158 with 10 VT Artillery 105mm. At 2312hrs TMF at 2257hrs Sting 61B reports 2 to 3 personnel that where moving west to east at 3 miles per hour with metal confirmed and engaged at 2300hrs with 10 HE Artillery 105mm. At 2335hrs TMF String 61 at 2317hrs target B reports stationary target with metal confirmed and engaged at 2326hrs with 10 HE Artillery 105mm. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Alpha Company used saturation patrolling and Day Ambush in their Area of Operation today. At 0735hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon in Patrol Base vicinity BS718420. At 1018hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon Day Ambush in location vicinity BS682391, 1st Platoon ambush closed at BS710403, 2nd Platoon at BS718420 and 3rd Platoon at BS704400. 1st Platoon spotted 1 VC at 200 meters started to evade and was able to followed and found 8 sleeping position hidden between bushes, with foxholes, had fresh mats in the positions. At 1425hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon is at checkpoint 2 vicinity BS695397, 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS723407, and 2nd Platoon patrol is at checkpoint 1 at BS721417. At 1745hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon on patrol vicinity BS723403 1 Vietnamese 200 meters away and the Vietnamese started to evade. Following him the 1st Platoon found 8 sleeping positions hidden between the bushes. Each position had a foxhole dug next to it, and the grass mats in the position were fresh. At 2005hrs Alpha Company reports their Night Locations Command Post 3rd, 4th Platoon BS704400, 3rd Platoon BS698396, 1st Platoon BS710403, 716403, 2nd Platoon BS713423, BS712418.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Recon in Force in their Area of Operation during the day and the multiple Ambushes at night. The 1st and 4th Platoon is at LZ Liz. At 1133hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving out fro BS647531. At 1230hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon patrol closed vicinity BS641524. At 1436hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon patrol closed vicinity BS649521, 2nd Platoon is moving out for BS634526 and 3rd Platoon patrol is moving to BS642522. At 2000hrs Bravo Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon ambush locations BS643523, 1st and 4th Platoon is at LZ Liz, 3rd Platoon BS643520, BS645520, BS647520, 2nd Platoon BS642522, and BS642524. Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Charlie Company

At 1003hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out for BS705525. At 1006hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon ambush closed vicinity BS673572 with 1st Platoon ambush closed vicinity BS693538. At 1008hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon at OP PAX purchased the following VIP from a 11 year old boy, 1 155 HE round, for 2 meals of C Rations. At 1210hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS693538 OP Pax bought 1 M-79 canister round from a 12 year old boy for 1 can of C Rations. At 1240hrs Charlie Company at OP Pax bought 1 M-79 canister round from a boy who was 12 years old for 1 can of C-Rations. Charlie Company continued to use patrolling and sweeps in their Area of Operation. At 1930hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon patrol in location BS689528 and 3rd Platoon ambushes are both cancelled.
Delta Company

Delta Company patrolling their Area of Operations at 0730hrs Delta 1st Platoon patrol spotted 1 VC in vicinity BS731569 engage the area with M-60, checked it out with negative results. At 0947hrs Delta Company vicinity BS753568 requested a priority Dust Off for 1 US with minor frag wounds to chest and arms. Daniel Ervin Dust Off Competed at 0953hrs. At 1030hrs Delta Company vicinity BS745568 while on a combined operation the 2nd squad engaged by 2-3 VC firing at a distance of 300 meters from south, 15 rounds of small arms fire. The Mortar squad of the 712 RF Company firing in support dropped a 60mm round 100meters from the combined Operation position injury in 1 US. A sweep of the area resulted in negative finding. Dust Off completed at 0953hrs. At 2045hrs Delta Company locations Command Post 3rd Platoon BS705440, 1st and 4th Platoon BS753568, 1st Platoon ambush BS751579, 2nd Platoon BS718453 and BS719455. SP4 Daniel R Ervin was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital (Multiple Frag Wounds to chest Friendly Fire).
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
