Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0430hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Radar Targets sighted 10 to 15 stationary personnel at 1920hrs at grid BS830431 with E Troop informed. At 1935hrs 15 to 20 stationary personnel were sighted at BS771491 and MACV was informed. A 2010hrs 35 stationary personnel were sighted at BS814342 and engaged with 18 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 2215hrs PPS 5 4 to 5 stationary personnel were sighted at BS738444 and Alpha Company was informed, at 0105hrs 8 to 10 stationary personnel were sighted at BS810457 and engaged with 9 HE of Artillery 105mm. At 0110hrs PPS 5 sighted 3 to 5 stationary personnel at BS742438 and engaged with 6 HE of 4.2 Mortar and at 0300hrs 6 to 8 stationary personnel were sighted at BS731469 and engaged with 14 HE of Artillery155mm. At 0720hrs the flame throwers area at BS837415 and will be clover leafing in the area. At 0925hrs Helix (FAC) we spotted 4 people that where moving northwest off a trail on to the 515 road. They moved into a bunch of water buffalo. He was informed of the Rules of Engagement. At 0920hrs the present location of the E Troop Flame Throwers, is at BS838407 and at 0946hrs E Troop Flame Throwers are at BS830420 where they found and destroyed several wood bunkers. At 1000hrs the E Troop Flame Throwers had 2 secondary explosions at BS829411, they were probably hand frag grenades. E Troop we need parts that fit on the left side of the final drive, 2 cap bolts and locks for the bolts. We will move to BS836427 and set E Troop informed up a Day Logger position. At 1105hrs MACV Duc Pho at grid BS788444 two French sub machineguns were found. One was in fairly good condition and the other was in poor shape MACV as the weapons. At 1215hrs 1-20 Infantry we request 1 hook for 13 May 1970 to lift a 500 gallon billet or Mo Gas to E Troop Flame Tracks. At 1335hrs E Troop we have cleared 3 acres today. At 1715hrs E Troop found a family bunker, hootch and clothes along with a small amount of rice. E Troop destroyed the bunker and got a secondary explosion about the size of Hand frag grenade at grid BS828428. At 1730hrs 1-20 Infantry E Troop cleared the area of BS829411, BS830420, BS838407 and BS836427 approximately 3 acres). At 1843hrs E Troop is in their Night Defense Position at BS839427.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1610hrs E Troop the 1SGT is to have 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid on re supply on 13 May 1970.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company used patrolling along with day ambushes and multiple night ambushes Alpha Company destroyed one small tunnel, Alpha Company also detained and turned into Military Intelligence 4 VC.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company will be using the multiple patrolling and sweeps in their Area of Operation today. At 2155hrs the 58 element received 10 to 15 rounds of Small arms fire from their north at approximately 300 meters. At 2315hrs Bravo Company requested an Urgent Dust Off for three Vietnamese civilians who were wounded in the B59 element contact. One Vietnamese child has a minor frag has a minor frag wounds to the right leg, one male has multiple frag wounds and one male frag wounds to the hand and stomach Grid BS771461, completed at 2329hrs. At 2335hrs Bravo Company the 76 element sprung their ambush on 4 to 5 VC and engaged with claymores and small arms fire, the VC moving east to west at BS783436 at approximately 100-150 meters. The 76 element will check the area and had a negative finding. The 76 element is moving back to BS783433. The 76 element is moving back to BS783433 and the VC believed to have evaded to Van Truong on which we are calling Artillery.
Charlie Company

At 0510hrs Charlie Company the 54 element is in the blocking position at BS785378 and 56 is sweeping form BS785378. At 0700hrs Charlie Company we are in our Day Logger at BS787385 which will be our resupply location. At 1112hrs Vietnamese children brought into the 36 element location 5 M-79 rounds, one M-26 grenade, M-60 Ammo, 50 M-1 Carbine rounds and one fire cracker round at grid BS787407, we will blow in place. At 1148hrs Charlie Company Night Defense Position will be at 828447. At 1732hrs Charlie Company we are moving to our Night Defense Position at BS742444. At 1830hrs Charlie Company the 54 element is in their Night Defense Position BS791375. At 1935hrs the 57 element is moving to their snake location and spotted and engaged 3 VC at BS789466. The VC where engaged at 400 meters and evade to the south. The three were dressed in green uniforms and were carrying pack. Weapons could not tell for sure, checking area.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1355hrs Delta Company need an Urgent Dust Off for one Vietnamese female with M-79 frag wounds from a dud round. She was just outside the access road wire at BS767438, completed 1407hrs. At 1400hrs the 34 element moving to their block location for Bravo Company at BS676418. At 1815hrs Delta Company the 75, 86 and 77 elements are moving to their access road security posts and at 1820hrs all element reports they have closed on their positions.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0720hrs Recon Platoon the 53 element is at BS824444, the 54 element is at BS828436, the 55 element is at BS820453, the 53 snake will be at BS827442, the 54 snake will be at BS833433 and the 55 snake will be at BS798457. At 0915hrs Recon the 53 element will move out to the radar sighting at BS810457. At 1040hrs Recon Platoon the 53 element checked out the area of the artillery and found 4 camp fires, 1 55 gallon barrel with a small amount of rice in it and about 300 meters away fresh foot prints moving east were found grid BS810457. At 1445hrs Recon the 54 snake has been changed to BS828440. At 1920hrs Recon the 53 element is at BS823448, the 54 element is at BS824442 and the 55 element is at BS802463.
