Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1045hrs Helix is at grid BS758394, he spotted 20 to 30 personnel with cattle at BS753387. At 1245hrs the Assistant Commander Command Officer arrived at LZ Liz and left at 1320hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1210hrs Bud Pad reports Resupply locations for Charlie Company are at BS750410 and Delta Company is at BS803368.
Alpha Company
March 12, 1970
At 0759hrs Alpha Company the entire element has linked up with Recon for extraction from BS795375. Finished at 0900hrs and Alpha Company is taking over the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Bravo Company
March 12, 1970
At 0905hrs Bravo Company the 35 element spotted 3 VC evading to the northeast at BS804425. The 35 element is pursuing them with negative results. At 1625hrs Bravo Company we need an Urgent Dust Off for a Vietnamese girl who was hit by a vehicle and possible has a broken back (age12), and the Vehicle was moving north on the Red Ball. Dust Off completed at 1629hrs at grid BS787424. At 1700hrs Bravo Company the 65 element received small arms fire from 3-5 personnel approximately 200 meters to 300 meters away at BS785485, we are engaging with 81mm and small arms fire this time with negative results.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation today and at 0945hrs the 62 element found 2 tunnels of unknown size. The 92 element checked it out and a 3 tunnel was found, and request 6 shaped charges and 100 feet of detonate cord. At 1225hrs the 65 element while on the sweep found 2 NVA Type uniforms, one light green and one khaki color. They found them in a hedgerow covered in plastic at BS737406 and appeared to have been there awhile. At 1240hrs Charlie Company the 66 element found 1 NVA KIA today approximately 200 meters of man that was pursued 6 weeks ago and found on man 1 US cal pistol, US type 6 X 30 binoculars, US Frag grenade, US flashlight, US bush hat, light green NVA type uniform. Charlie Company moves into their Night Defense Position at BS745404.
Delta Company
March 12, 1970
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0907hrs the entire Company leaving LZ Liz head for their Day Logger at BS803369. At 1040hrs Delta Company the 32 element picked up one Vietnamese female approximately 20 with no ID. She says she is 15, both Kit Carson Scouts believe she is VC and request extraction to LZ Liz at gird BS803368. Her mother brought her ID from Duc Pho and she will be released. At 1155hrs Delta Company we are now in out Day Logger at BS803369. At 1354hrs Delta Company 33 element will be working in grid BS8036 at 1600hrs today. At 1825hrs Delta Company all elements have closed are moving to our Night Defense Position at BS800350 and at 1907hrs Delta Company reports closing on their New Night Defense Position at BS803349.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0620hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Scheduled Fires 5, Observed Missions 3 and Defensive Target 2 with total expended 16 He, 2 WP and 31 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0514hrs Recon Platoon reports we have intelligence at BS806369 and BS802369 and Recon was notified to check it out. At 0814hrs Recon the 32 and 12 elements are closing on BS795379 and closed at 0530hrs on the Recon 52 element location and we are moving out to check out the intelligence grid. At 0655hrs Recon reports we are in our PZ Location at BS795375. Recon Platoon is extracted with Alpha Company to LZ Liz and taken up their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
